Lily looked at hum, suddenly nervous. What was he going to say? She was praying that he wasn't deciding he couldn't do it anymore, that the fake relationship was too much. That moment was perfect, and she wanted the memory of it to stay perfect.

Tom continued. "I don't think I can fake this anymore. I just can't."

Lily's heart dropped, as if she had been punched in the gut. Tom then proceeded to say,

"I can't fake it when all of my feelings are real. It's all real Lily, and it always has been. I think.. I think I'm in love with you."

And in that moment, it was as if the color had instantly come back to Lily's face. She dropped her head back and sighed with relief.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to say that, Tom." Lily let out a breathy laugh, easing Tom's nerves. The truth was finally out. Lily Everhart and Tom Hiddleston had fallen for each other. And they were okay with that.

As they stood there, still slowly dancing to the tune in the background, they grew closer and closer to each other. Tom looked into Lily's eyes looking for permission, and it only took one glance for him to know it was okay.

He reached down to have his lips meet hers, when all of a sudden, they were interrupted by a rustling in a nearby bush.

Lily snapped her head to the side to observe the noise, noticing a flash of dark run back towards the house. Confused, Tom and Lily walked hand in hand back to the party to try and figure out where that noise had come from.

As they entered the living room and rejoined the group, they couldn't help but feel like a weight had been lifted off their chests. Everything was out there, and there would be no need to pretend. At least, they thought everything was out there.

Before they knew it, Brian had jumped onto the coffee table, gathering the attention of everyone in the room, especially Lily.

Before she could finish her thought, Brian raised his voice, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. "Hey, everyone! Can we all take a moment to appreciate Lily and Tom's acting skills?"

A hush fell over the room as all eyes turned toward Ava and Liam, who froze mid-conversation. Lily's heart pounded in her chest as she searched desperately for a way to diffuse the situation, but Brian was already on a roll.

"Seriously," Brian continued with a smirk, "they've had us all fooled this whole time. Pretending to be a couple when they're clearly just friends."

Lily felt the weight of everyone's stares, their silent judgment suffocating. She glanced at Tom, who met her gaze with a mixture of concern and determination.

Brianna stepped forward, her brow furrowed in confusion. "Wait, what's going on?"

Brian gestured dramatically between Tom and Lily. "These two have been pretending to be a couple since the reunion. But it's all an act."

As Lily racked her brain, trying to figure out where they screwed up, Brian continued.

"I heard them confess to it, just now, out by the creek. And here, I have proof."
