I love you, Daddy,
I savor our love,
My chest overflows,
The sensation swims to encompass the tips of my toes.
I hope it doesn't see beyond them,
I try to interrupt your gaze.
I blame myself because you keep looking away. The love realizes that it's on a diving board,
It can't help taking a few springy jumps.
He inconspicuously chooses my pinky toe,
A stealthy escape that he hopes lessens the blow.I hold my breath as you
Plunge into the night,
Away from me to places unknown.Your oud that hijacked my mouth and settled in my throat still remains.
Its bitterness complements the dread sitting on my shoulders well.I watch you closely as you enter your car,
I wonder if you can drive with the suffocating stench of cigarette smoke lingering in the air.
Or have you, like me, resonated it to the feeling of home?I love you, Daddy.
