The basement air was thick with apprehension as Frank locked the heavy metal door behind them.Gavin was the fist of the group to awake his head spinning. He was confused, where was he? He had no idea. Suddenly the others each one asking the same questions Gavin had. They found themselves in a small, dimly lit cell with cold, concrete walls. Frank's parting words echoed ominously in their minds: Ya'll shouldn't have been curious. I was starting to like all of you. Now I have other plans for you."

Outside the cell, Frank ascended the stairs to the main laboratory, his mind already calculating the next steps. He nestled by his desk about a few feet from where his captors were held. He was visibly angry. Suddenly a man much older than Frank likely in his 60's approached him.

"King Frank sir." He said. "We located a signal."

Frank looked at the man with a still look on his face.

"When did you find this out?" He asked coldly.

"20 minutes si-" he said before he was cut off

Frank picked up a whiskey glass he had and smashed it across the mans face. Blood and teeth stained the floor and Frank's desk.

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!" He screamed "YOU WAIT TILL 20 MINUTES TO TELL ME THIS SHIT?!!"

The man lied there on the ground choking on his own blood murmured. "We... had... We had..."

"HAD TO WHAT?!!" Frank scolded. "ANSWER ME MOTHERFUCKER!"

"We... had to make sure the signal came from the ark like you said..." the man groaned.

Frank rubbed his head. Sweat visible beaming down on his face. He picked up the man by his ear and walked him down to the others.

Back in the cell, the mood turned somber. Yoslyn, always the pragmatic one, attempted to stay composed. "We have to think. There must be a way out of here."

Antonio paced back and forth, frustration evident in his voice. "Damn it! How did we end up in this mess?"

"I think we should be thinking about how the fuck do we get out of this mess" snarled Gavin as he sat on the cold hard floor of this cell.

Lucy, usually quiet, couldn't hold back her tears any longer. "I just want to go home."

"I know baby. I know." Said Anthony as he sat down next to her putting his arms around her for comfort.

Their discussion was interrupted by a voice they did not recognize. "So, you're the newcomers huh?"

The group turned around swiftly. In the cell next to them was a man they had never seen before his body and face were visibly covered in dirt and it seemed like he hadn't bathed in months.

Gavin pulled Yoslyn behind him. "Who are you?" Gavin asked seemingly raising his fists.

"Calm down cowboy im not here to hurt you. Names Rick." Said the stranger.

"Ok...Rick, what the fuck is going on here?" Asked Richard.

"This is your new home. Or your new grave." Laughed Rick.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Gavin barked his face coming close to the bars that separated them. "Tell me right now or I swear I will kick your ass."

"I'm not scared of you pal. I've seen and done shit that you never imagine. You ever had to watch your family die right in front of you?" Said Rick. Gavin looked at him a blank stare at his face. He turned to Yoslyn tears streaming down her face.

Gavin looked  back at him. He could barely even look into this man's eyes. It was then when he realized that this man was not well mentally and probably more dangerous than the people that trapped them in this cell or the creatures out in the woods.
