But only I know what I am feeling.
Everyone tells me it will be okay,
But no one can predict the future.
Just because you can't see something,
It doesn't mean it's not there.
Suffering is there, but we can't always see it.
We can only see it when we stop hiding it.
Everyone says they know the feeling,
But they didn't feel the tears prick the back of their eyes.
Everyone tells me it will end soon,
But they didn't see the venom she spat
When she insulted and threatened my life.
No one heard my racing heart,
No one felt the fear I felt
So if you know the feeling, why didn't you help?
Some of them told me it would get better
But I know that it will never end,
Because the memory will haunt me forever.
