Our Past ; Mattheo Riddle

Numb

It's now been five days and it was eight in the morning when Mattheo looked up from his phone once he heard shuffling in the bed. Mattheo was just about to call Theo to check up on him, Theo has some small injuries, broken hand and wrist, but he felt really guilty about everything that had happened to Val. "Matt.." He heard a soft whisper come from Vals mouth as she turned her head slowly to look at him. "Hi love, how are you." He responded to her as he walked up to her bed and held her hand. "In pain." She said with a soft chuckle, "Ok, I'll go get Andrea, i will be right back hun." Val smiled at him and he quickly walked out of the room to go tell Andrea she was awake, and a couple minutes after Mattheo got back into the room, Andrea came in with some painkillers and a glass of water. "Hey hunny. So glad to see you doing better." Andrea said as she passed the pills and water to Val. "Take these and you should be feeling better in no time okay? Do you want me to get Jax, Lilith, and Jake for you?" She asked her once Val downed the pills all at once. "Sure." She said softly with a smile and Andrea nodded and left the room. "How long have I been out for, I feel like shit." "Um, Val you've been out for five days." "Five days! Are you fucking kidding me? Get me the fuck out of here." Mattheo chuckled at her as the door opened. "Ria!" Lilith said as she ran over to the bed and got on top of Val, hugging her. "Careful Lil." Jake said as him and Jax walked over to the bed as well. "Yeah yeah, let me hug my sister." Lilith said with a giggle and Val laughed as well. Mattheo loved seeing her around her other friends, these people were like family to her and they always made her so happy. "How's it goin Ria?" Jax asked her as he kissed the top of her head. "Im ok Jax, thank you." She smiled up at him, "Well, we'll leave you two to it." Jake said, seeing how Mattheos demeanor changed when he saw that Jax had kissed Val. Jake gave Val a hug and they all left the room, leaving Mattheo and Valeria to it. "Matt, he's basically my brother, relax." Mattheo chuckled at her and kissed her on her lips, making Valerias face turn bright red. "God, even after five days, I still have the same reaction from you every single time, hm?" He said as she pulled the blanket over her face, for it only to be pulled back down as Mattheo stared into her beautiful green eyes. "You're so beautiful." He told her, "I've been in a hospital bed for five days, how can I look beautiful right now?" She said laughing at him, when there was a knock at the door. "I don't mean to interrupt, but Valeria if you'd like to take a shower, you can. You'll have to be here for a couple of days just for us to watch your concussion and then you'll be free to be back at school by monday." Andrea smiled at Val, "Yes please!" Val said, excited to take a shower, "Lilith brought some clothes for you to wear, it's mostly just exercise clothing, but it's comfortable." Valeria laughed and nodded her head as she slowly got out of the bed and walked over to Andrea, "I'll be back soon love." Mattheo nodded his head at her and sat back down in his chair to take a nap.

After a day, Val was feeling the numbing effects of the painkillers and as much as she didn't want to say it, she really had missed this feeling. She felt numb and amazing at the same time, everything felt fake and she felt as if she was flying 90% of the time. She realized that she's been asking for more and more each day and Andrea had been prescribing her more as well. Luckily, she had, had a major concussion so the painkillers were a normal amount she should be taking but she never wanted this feeling to end. She was currently laying in her hospital bed playing heads up with Jax, as she told Mattheo that he had to go back to school, as well as he had gotten a call from the school saying that he needed to be back since they never received an excused slip from him or his father. "Oh my fucking god Jax, the dude who sings Sorry!" Valeria yelled at Jax, getting mad at how horrible he was at the game, "Justin Bieber!" He yelled back at her as she nodded her head violently and the time went out. "You literally got one point, in the span of five minutes, are you actually that slow?" She told him laughing, "Did you seriously just call me slow? Im two whole years older than you!" He said laughing as well. "Valerine." They heard a voice come from the door, and it was none other than her father, "Mr. Payne. I'll leave you two be." Jax said as he walked out of the room, sending Val a salute as he closed the door. "Father." She said as he sat down in a chair next to her hospital bed. "How are you?" Val could almost laugh as she heard those words come out of her fathers mouth, she had never heard those words from him and it was hilarious to her, "Im fine." She said, the numb feeling starting to wear off, so she leaned over to the bedside table to grab another pill and swallowed it dry. "You need to go back to school. The professors are starting to question your whereabouts." She nodded at him as he started to leave the room. "Mattheo is waiting for you outside. Be on your best behavior." "Yes father." She answered him as he left the room. Valeria gathered all of her belongings and walked out of the room until she found herself walking toward the medication room. She was able to get into any room with just her fingerprint and as she walked in, she found exactly everything she was looking for, she started grabbing multiple bottles of pills of the walls and making it seem like she took nothing, and then left the room quickly. 

She walked out of the building, saying her goodbyes to everyone, including Jax, Jake, and Lil, and got into Mattheos car. "Hi doll, how are you?" "Im doing ok, still in a bit of pain, but I'll be okay." She told him and they drove off toward hogwarts. Mattheo was driving much more careful than normal, until Valeria turned the music up because she couldn't take the silence and sang along to the lyrics all the way back.
