Your POV:
Tonight has been going great so far. Ian won me a small teddy bear from one of the game stalls. Jason got lucky too and won a small prize for Wendy as well. Unfortunately, Kevin wasn't successful at winning anything for Carrie. Luckily, she was able to win a prize on her own. Girl power.
We were all getting hungry so we decided to grab a bite to eat before heading over to the Devil's Flight. Carrie, Wendy and I are sitting at a table while waiting for the guys to come back with our food.
"Sooooo....." Wendy starts, looking and smirking at me.
I shurg my shoulders. "Sooooo what?"
"Ian McKinley," she says. I roll my eyes. "What about him?" I ask, as if I don't already know where she's about to go with this.
"Oh come on, (y/n)," she laughs. "You know exactly what I'm about to say. When were you going to tell me that you and Ian are a thing now?"
"Whoa! Seriously?" Carrie chimes in.
"Okay, no. Ian and I are not a thing. If anything, we're just friends," I tell them both.
"Oh really?" Wendy replies before pulling out the school's camera as it looks like she's scrolling through some pictures. She stops and turns the camera screen towards Carrie and me, revealing a picture of me kissing Ian almost on the lips with his arm wrapped around my shoulder and a huge smile on his face as we were standing in front of one of the game stalls. Carrie makes a gasping sound as I stare at the picture in shock.
"This doesn't look so platonic to me," Wendy teases, putting the camera away.
I look away from the screen, biting the bottom of my lip, unsure of what to say.
"Why don't you just admit it, (y/n), "Wendy says, smiling at me. "You like him. It's super obvious."
Is it obvious, though? Could she be right? Do I have feelings for Ian? Honestly, I feel like there is a part of me that may have grown to like him. After my little moment with him yesterday at the hardware store, I couldn't help but gain some kind of feelings for him. I just wasn't sure what kind of feelings. Not until now. Hence as to why I probably made that sketch of him without even realizing what I was actually sketching.
"Well?" Wendy says, waiting for me to explain myself."
"Okay, fine," I say, feeling exposed. "Maybe, just maybe I do kind of have a crush on Ian."
Carrie gasps again. "I knew it," Wendy smiles.
"Knew what?" Jason asks, appearing out of nowhere. I look up to see Kevin and Ian standing behind Carrie and me. "Oh nothing," Wendy says as the guys sets the food down on the table.
"What were you girls over here talking about?" Kevin ask, sitting down next to Carrie and putting his arm around her shoulders. Ian sits next to me. I can feel his gaze on me as I reach for the food I had request for. "Just girl things. You wouldn't understand," Carrie says before giving Kevin a peck on the lips.
"Alrighty well, dig in, everyone. I believe I can hear The Devil's Flight calling our names. Wouldn't want to keep it waiting any longer now would we?" Jason says. Everyone began munching on their food. Ian didn't get anything but a drink. I guess he just wasn't hungry. I offer him some of my fries so that he can at least have a little something in his stomach besides the drink. "Thanks," he smiles, accepting my offer. I smile back.
Without looking, I reach for a fry when suddenly, I feel a hand brush against mines. I look down, seeing Ian's hand touching mines. I quickly move my hand, apologising to Ian while looking down at the table so that he doesn't notice me blushing. I hear him chuckle. I look up and see Wendy staring at me with a smirk on her face. Everyone else is too busy having a conversation to notice anything.
I resume eating my food. I take a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart while everyone else is chatting and laughing around me. I glance at Ian who seems completely at ease as he sips his drink and stuffs his mouth with some of my fries. As I sit here and watch him, I can't help but wonder how he feels about me. What exactly is going through his mind as he sits here next to me?
