Babes mi a guh some weh yer" Vauntaé whispered into his wife's ears which she nodded in response and continued brushing her teeth
Just then, their little girl, Zoe, burst into the room, her tiny feet pattering against the floor.
"Daddy!, Daddy!, mi wah come wid yuh?" she squealed, her voice filled with excitement and anticipation.
Her father, chuckled and scooped her up in his arms, twirling her around in a circle.
"But Zoe, we talk bout dis alrdy, guh sleep mi soon come back man," he said
Zoe's face fell, her eyes welling up with tears. "But mi nuh wah sleep, mi wah come wid yuh," she pleaded, her small hands made its way around his neck hugging him
But alas his heart melted at her tears and affection, and he couldn't resist her charming little smile.
"Alright alright, but, yuh affi be really really really QUIET!," he said, his voice booming with laughter whilest tickling and spinning her around in the air as she giggled and thrashed about.
Little did they know those were they're last moments together.

As the duo reached the community football feild for a gang meet up, the sound of laughter and music filled the air.
Men and women alike called out to the father, and even children stopped their games to say "good night" or a "hello."
"Yow Vaun, ova yasso ih pree deh fawud" Zaheel shouted from a group of men that either sat on a car or was seated in a stool
As they approached the group the smell of alcohol and ganja hung heavy over the gathering
The little girl whispered to her father, "Daddy yer suh stink," and he let out another loud laugh, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Alright suh a wah ih pree now"
"Boss yuh wah know seh ih batty bwoy Chino a gi ih enemy side info," Zaheel sneered.
"Eee?" he chuckled as he rubbed his daughters head who was busy watching My Little Pony on his lap with a thumb lodged in her mouth.
"Mami why yuh nuh gwaan guh play wid Avanáe" he whispered pointing towards the girl who was chasing the fireflies off into the night.
"Alright" she excitedly
"Boss see Chino deh a come, wah yah guh do?"
"Mi guh deal wid it man"
Vaunté walked over to Chino
"A suh yah guh gwaan inna mi community boy, afta mi tek yuh in as mi bredda and a dis yah guh do" Vaun's voice echoed grabbing everyone's attention
Chino reached in his back pocket

The first sound boomed across the field and bounced off the broken walls that surrounded it
And then, in an instant, everything changed.
Vaun fell to the ground, clutching his stomach. Zoe's cries pierced the air as she ran towards her father dropping to the ground beside him, her small hands trying to hold him up.
But it was too late. Vaun's eyes locked onto Zoe's, filled with a deep love and regret, before they went dark. And Zoe was left alone, her world shattered by a single bullet.
As Vaun's life slipped away, Zoe's tiny hands grasped his shirt, her small voice screaming
"DADDY! DADDY!...Daddyyyyyyy!" in a desperate plea. Tears streamed down her face, as people pulled her off the dead figure that laid before her.
The laughter and music of the gathering faded into the distance, replaced by the sound of Zoe's anguished cries. and people buzzing with panick
The little girl's world shattered, her heart torn apart by the brutal loss of her father.
"Daddy....." her once cheerful jovial voice was now quiet and soft.
The community, once a vibrant place of laughter and friendship, was now a scene of an unspeakable doing.
The smell of gunpowder and blood reeked in the air, a grim reminder of the senseless violence that had taken Vaun's life.
Her mother had arrived shortly after and fell to her knees after seeing her husband's bloody form on the ground.
"Waiiiiiii, MI HUSBAND SMADDY HELP HIMMMM, SMADDY PLEASEEEEEE"
A loving father and a wonderful husband's life was taken today...
