Shen Qiao hadn't had the easiest day at at work. It was stressful to say the least. He hated his job but couldn't really do much about it. His colleague was Yan wushi and, well, that spoke for itself.
So on days like today, Shen Qiao would often retreat to a small coffee shop in the quieter side of the city. It was hidden away amidst the tall buildings, shops, skyscrapers, and apartment blocks (ect) that spiralled upwards towards the heavens. It was one of the few places where Shen Qiao felt he could truly relax a bit.
_____________
He ordered a mocha and took a seat by the window, gazing out at outside world as it spun round without him. A waiter brought his drink over not long afterwards.
The streets were bustling with people, all rushing to one place or another. It was raining pretty heavily as well, which drowned out the sound of the streets. He sat watching the sky's tears fall gracefully down the clear glass, creating a unique spectacle, a beautiful sight in its own way. The early evening sky had painted itself blissfully across the heavens. It was a rather relaxing view.
The little bell tinkled softly, signalling someone opening through the door. She Qiao didn't bother turning around to see who had entered. Considering the fact how he probably wouldn't know them anyway. He took a sip from his mocha, and then practically choked on it when he heard the man's voice.
"A-Qiao! Fancy seeing you here!"
Yan Wushi grinned at him.
"This seat taken?" He sat down without waiting for a response. Shen Qiao regained his composure and cleared his throat.
"Mr Yan...did you...follow me here by any chance?"
Yan Wushi pretended to look hurt. He smacked a hand to his chest and gasped dramatically. "Oh A-Qiao! Are you accusing me of stalking!"
Shen Qiao ignored him. Goodbye peace and quiet, come visit me anytime. Shen Qiao thought miserably. Another waiter brought over Yan Wushi's drink. Shen Qiao gave him a look.
"You're having another?"
"Aw, is my A-Qiao concerned for me? I'm touched!" Yan Wushi teased with a grin.
"...That's you sixth black coffee today."
"And?"
"..."
He didn't bother continuing with Yan Wushi. He took a sip of his coffee and stared aimlessly out the cafe window. It was still raining outside though it wasn't quite as heavy as it was when he arrived, it was quieter on the streets too, more peaceful.
Just as Shen Qiao was admiring the rains unique beauty, Yan Wushi was admiring him.
