~Gene's POV~

"How does the yolk stay so perfectly circular inside the egg after being viciously cracked open and thrown into a scolding pan of death?" I thought to myself for a moment, before sinking my teeth into a sizzling strip of bacon.

"Gene honey are ya excited for ya first day back?" My mom asked as she sat down across from me at our dining room table.

I shrugged in response, I wasn't dreading going back. School just doesn't really matter to me anymore. I miss having Louise, Tina, and I all together. Hot damn, we owned that middle school. After Louise's world famous last day of school prank on Mr. Frond, he retired! Such a vulnerable little man he was. Without Louise, I really don't have many friends in school. Tina tries to hang out with me, but with how popular she's become I don't wanna hold her back. I'm really happy for her, she's achieved pretty much all of her childhood dreams. Her and Jimmy Jr. are the hottest couple in school, her erotic friend fiction is making a splash in the online community, hell her and Tammy are even the bestest of friends now! Tina is out there having a blast while I'm just kind... here. Dad said I should just try and find out who Gene even is this year, and that's just what I'm gonna do.

"Oh there's my little angel baby!" said my very excited Mother. Tina had just entered the room, Mom has been treating her like some sort of mentally handicapped toddler for the past few weeks. It's obvious that she feels like Tina grew up to fast (She told me all about it last week during our pedicures, we always go to the nail salon during a crisis. Chen and Ming have really got their shit figured out.).

Tina smiled and posed as Mom took about seventy million pictures of her. Once we were all seated at the table, Dad gave us his yearly motivational first day of school speech.

"Kids, you're all terrible terrible people. But today, I have to shove that fact of live back into the box of my shattered dreams and missed opportunities. Today, you're all headed back to school and I'm happy that you've all made it this far. Sure, we've had more than our fair share of rough patches. But look at us now! Kids, never forget who you are and where you come from. We are Belchers!" Dad chanted.

"Possibly the most mediocre family in the world!" Chimed in Louise.

"And we're happy about it!" I cheered. I get that my family may not be the most normal, but Jesus Christ I love them.

~Louise's POV~

After breakfast, Mom and Dad went downstairs to open the restaurant while Tina and Gene started their walks to school. I had to take a bus to my new school, because of how far away it was. I couldn't be happier, no other kids in town take a bus to school. So me being the only kid taking a school bus, well that only further asserts my dominance.

Suddenly, a short yellow bus that read "BRIARWOOD ACADEMY TRANSPORTATION" across the side stopped outside my house.

"What the hell?" I muttered under my breath. Why was I on a short bus?

As I stepped onto this putrid bus, the middle aged driver told me there was only one other kid on the bus, a senior. That answered my question. As I turned to find a seat my eyes met a familiar face. A tall boy with blond hair, he had a skateboard obnoxiously sticking out of his bag.

"Hey four ears." He said with a menacing grin.
