The infamous Joey Drew studios was running in a large, unique building. What made the studio stick out was the rather enormous head of its signature character, Bendy, greeting you. The yellow-ish colour and the general shape of the building made it seem like it's really old, like an 80's cartoon studio. Fortunately, the animation process was not sticking to old methods though. In fact, the quality of tools used are pleasantly good. So does the talents of the employees. The artists, musicians and voice actors are all well-known professionals. Well, most of them. Considering that the woman entering through the antique looking doors had only graduated 2 years ago.
As the woman makes her way from the lobby of the building to the secretary's desk, the tired looking secretary notices her, forming a forced smile with closed lips. The woman smiles back but with a genuine, bright smile. Ginger, long hair put up in twin buns although sidebangs dropping down to her chest and a black sweater tucked into forest green trousers does make her blend in with the cartoon theme, just a bit off the colour scheme.
"Good morning miss, I was here for an interview a week ago and I was told that I start today..?"
Ginger woman said in front of the secretary desk. One hand resting on the messenger bag draping over her shoulder.
"Ah... Your name, please?"
"Melanie, Melanie Merrick."
The secretariat finds her name on the system, handing her a name card.
"Alright, Mr Drew already informed us about a new animator. So here is your card then. You need it to enter some parts of the departments. Oh- Wally! Over here!"
Melanie shifts towards where the secretary woman is talking towards to see a tall, lanky man. A long face and short ginger hair. As the man approaches Melanie is able to see the name card attached to his belt. Wally Franks. Janitor.
"Miss Melanie will fill the manager position for the animation department. Could you show her around?"
Wally eyes the woman who is now offering a friendly handshake to him.
"Nice to meet you mister-"
And Melanie was cut off by the man's chuckle as the two began walking. The awfully nice formality wasn't something he received everyday after all.
"No need for all that rich talk. Wally is just fine. Don't get me wrong, aren't ya too young to be working here? To be fair we do already have few 'young prodigies' here but he's- ahem sorry- most of them are... y'know, snobbish. You don't look like you fill that criteria."
Taking both of the remarks as compliments, Melanie chuckles. Freckled face squished up with a big smile.
"Well, Wally, I'm just a few seconds in and you're already making me curious about the drama around here!"
The two keep talking as the janitor gives a detailed tour of the studio. Overall, it's a nice environment. The Music department is marvellous in Melanie's opinion. The walls are painted with notes and framed pictures of its employees as well as a whole wall dedicated to awards won by them. Another thing displayed that covered a whole wall was a board with a sign over it that read "Sammy's Wall of Shame" and when asked what that was Wally replied "That's where the music department sticks their 'Lawrence Letters' don't worry you'll know what that is soon" and kept going. Also, she doesn't get the chance at seeing the recording rooms as Wally explains they're in the middle of something and the head composer, Sammy Lawrence isn't very fond of "interruptions" so the two don't spend much time there, making Melanie curious about this composer.

The next on the tour is the merchandise/toy department or "Heavenly Toys" as they call it. And Melanie absolutely adores the plushies, t-shirts, and over all everything displayed around and the employees who welcomed her were so kind. They gifted her a bendy-themed lanyard as a welcome gift. Making Melanie more than grateful.

And naturally, Melanie's favourite place so far is the animation department. It's divided into two mini-departments: art and recording. And Melanie was going to be in charge of the whole department. Mostly doing animation but also checking there's no error in the work and recording progress. The department was really cosy and pleasant looking. The walls were decorated with posters and the department welcomed her in very well.
And her last stop was Joey Drew's office. Melanie and Wally stood in front of the fancy door, him gesturing to knock.
"Welp. That's all there is to see. Mr Drew wants to meet you and I have a mountain of things to do, see ya." thus ending Wally's tour with Melanie thanking him continuously and her knocking on the door, entering after hearing a cheerful "come in!"

The room felt cramped because of all the shelves filled with trinkets and pictures, a diploma and awards framed on the walls. Joey Drew rises from his seat as Melanie gets in, reaching for the woman's hand to shake. The man has slicked back dark hair and a moustache somehow making him look older than he is. He has a cheeky smile, the two had met before. For the interview. Melanie had the impression that this guy should've been a politician instead of running an animation studio because of how he talks. They shake hands and Joey gestures to her to sit down on the sofa in front of his desk.
"Welcome Miss Merrick. Glad you made it! Did you have a tour of the studio?"
He asks as he also settles down. Melanie answers with a nod.
"Yes, thank you. The studio surely meets its reputation. It sure is a big opportunity to work here."
Joey grins ear to ear at the woman's comment. Leaning back on his seat.
"It sure is a big opportunity to have you here. We need enthusiasm, someone to make animations come to life ! And you, Miss Merrick, you are the one for that!"
Although the rest of their conversation goes normal, Melanie can't help but wonder how Mr Drew talks so sure of himself when talking about Melanie and her "future achievements" but decides not to ask much. Just accepting Joey as a kinda weird but funny man as he is and after a brief chit chat and a summary of some rules she officially starts her first day in the studio…
