MASON'S POV

I had spent Christmas alone since my early retirement. It was an ordinary day for me. I'd hide away from the world while families had a family ski, enjoying the Christmas air. It stopped bothering me after a couple of years. I was content until Abi brought me back to the Hughes house, and I instantly felt like a happy toddler again.

The sweet Christmas sugar cookies baking filled the air as we took our boots off.

"Room for a couple more?" Abi shouted, capturing her family's attention.

Abi's Mum, Auntie and Grandma rushed over, their faces lighting up joyfully as they embraced us in their warm, Motherly love. I felt a sense of belonging, as if I were part of their family.

"There is always space in this house." Abi's Mother smiled as she took my coat.

Abi's Auntie wrapped her arm around mine as we walked into the living room. "But prepare yourself for the madness. My boys have been counting down for their presents, and the grown boys forget their table manners when the turkey comes out."

I chuckled at her warning; it sounded much more festive than my normal December twenty-fifth.

"For the sake of Abi's Grandpa's heart, we're pretending the girls are staying in one room and you and Jordan in the other." Her Grandma quietly told me before we reached everyone.

"I wasn't born yesterday, Ada. It didn't fool me when our first kids snuck around." Her Grandpa said from his armchair. We laughed while the parents in the house blushed. I'd learned sneaking around can be fun, but sleeping peacefully next to Abi without the paranoia or ruining the perfect Christmas was comforting.

The evening consisted of me chatting to the Hughes men whilst the girls snuggled together watching romantic Christmas movies. It was nice spending time with Father figures.

"So, an Olympian might be joining the family."

"Don't get ahead of yourself, Pa," Uncle Sam said. "He'll have to survive the Hughes madness. It's a culture shock."

I laughed as I swallowed the mouthful of beer that I had treated myself to. "I think I prefer your madness to mine."

"Our Abi seems to be smitten with you," Her Dad, Will, told me.

I smiled at his observation. "It's hard not to love Abi. She's a special girl." I replied, looking over my shoulder to see her with doe eyes at the TV.

"Welcome to the family." Will toasted, raising his bottle for us to cheers.

So, this is what a family feels like.

Slowly, everyone was turning in for the night. The twins would sleep unless Abi read them a story, which melted my heart. It was a silly thought, but I could imagine her as a Mum. I would be a lucky man if that happened to us.

The adults left next; they'd spent the day running around to make the house as Christmassy as possible, and they had done an incredible job.

Jordan and Ruby had snuck off without us noticing. We were in our own world, curled up on the sofa, finishing the holiday movie marathon.

"Thank you for inviting me," I said, stroking Abi's legs.

She turned her attention to me with a sweet smile. "I couldn't leave you lonely on Christmas." She beamed. "Besides, it will be nice not waking up alone. I always sleep better with you."

"Oh yeah?" I challenged. "How much sleep do you require tonight? Because I can think of a few adult Christmas Eve activities we can do."

The mischievous smirk that I went crazy for spread on Abi's perfect face made me almost as happy as the sight of her spread legs. She gripped my hand and led me upstairs.

Her lips crashed onto mine as she guided us through her bedroom. "We've got to be quiet." She urged. After a week of no contact, I had built up more sexual frustration than ever.

"You've got to be less sexy for that to happen." I grinned before lifting her blush pink knitted sweater off her divine body. Her beauty always stunned me, but the bruises that patterned her skin pained me.

"They don't hurt anymore. Don't you dare hold back on me." She instructed as she held my hands that caressed her injuries.

I knew better than to fight her. Instead, I picked her up and laid her on her bed. Her giggle was music to my ears and a liability to my jeans.

We were both desperate for each other. It felt like a lifetime since my skin had touched hers. Foreplay was one of my specialities, but we couldn't wait.

"I need you," Abi told me like her life depended on it. Her seductive begging made it impossible to continue to tease her.

I needed her more.

The pure pleasure of being inside Abi would forever be incomparable. Our bodies being the most connected they can ever be is a feeling like no other. Having not only a physical connection but also a soul connection made it all the better.

I looked deep into her piercing eyes and fell more in love with her. She whispered my name in my ear like it was the only word she knew. I held her tighter and kissed her soft neck. The desperation to cover her with loving marks instead of bruises almost overtook me. My senses were on overdrive when I felt her lift her hips to meet mine.

"Holy shit, Abigail." I moaned. I felt her tighten around me; I craved to hear her sweet gasp as I delivered her to the ultimate universe that she took me every time I reached my climax.

Her nails dug into my skin only seconds later, fuelling me to ride out her high. She reached for my mouth and kissed me in the sweetest way, and I finally felt the dose of ecstasy I had missed.

I moved off her petite body and caught my breath. My energy was on the brink, but my happiness was unlimited. Abi rolled over and rested her head on my chest. I don't think there is any better place I could be.

I haven't had a home for years, but now I do. Abi is my home, and I never want to leave.
