Chapter 2

Miles 

This is so fucking stupid, I think as we reach the car.

I absolutely did not want to come to the bar tonight but Austin of course had to say yes.I did owe him after him driving me back from a party when I was completely wasted but that was a story for another time.

We all pile into the car, I'm about to take the drivers seat when Nessa comes out of nowhere like a fucking jack in the box and sit's like this is her own car.

"What the hell Nessa?" I say as she sits in.

"I want to drive." she says like it's the most simplest thing in the world, mind you this is my car.

"This is my car."

"Okay but I want to drive and besides you had a beer at the apartment so it only makes sense I drive."She says with a smirk.

I try to remember if I actually had one or if she's just messing with me but I did in fact have one.

I groan, I would ask Austin to drive but I want to see Nessa drive.According to Avery Nessa is a "awesome" driver but I want to see it for my own eyes.Also, I'm not a cry baby so I reluctantly sit in the passenger's seat.

Nessa starts the car, and put's the gear in the "P" position.She looks behind and backs out of the car rather smoothly actually.I would never admit that to her though, even if my life depended on it.

I glance in the back seat and see Austin looking at Cameron.He may not admit it but he's been "head over heels" for her since Junior year of High school.Avery said she's completely off limits and she doesn't want him breaking her heart like he has with all the girls he's dated.

Honestly I think Cameron's is probably one of the most oblivious people I've met.Don't get me wrong she's also one of the scariest but she's oblivious if she can't see Austin practically having heart eyes when he see's her.

I look back at the road and continue trying to find something wrong with Nessa's driving but I honestly can't.

We stop at a  red light and she goes on her phone.She connects her phone to my bluetooth and plays "Kill Bill" by SZA.

"The song is so overrated." I say.I'm not lying, don't get me wrong I love SZA as much as the next person but this song was used way too much.

"Good thing you can relate to it then."She snaps back.

I grin, I'm playing with fire right now but it's better than nothing.

"I would think you would have better music taste than this sweetheart." I reply amused.

She rolls her eyes before saying,"Oh really, let's hear yours."she says while raising an eye brow.

"Fine, I'll play mine and we'll ask everyone else who they like best."

She looks at me for few seconds before handing me her phone to disconnect the bluetooth.I'm honestly shocked she trusted me with such a job but maybe I'm over thinking it.When I log out of her Spotify I see a little girl on a mans shoulders.It looks like her dad, she has a huge toothless smile on her face and the man is laughing as well.I continue to look at the picture before Nessa catches me staring.

"Are you going to disconnect it or is that too damn complex for you." she says with an ice cold expression.

I don't reply and quickly disconnect.While Nessa explains the challenge I proposed to everyone else I think about the the picture I saw.

Nessa never talked about her family.All I know is her Mom lives in Mexico, according to Miles.I snap back from my trance before Miles starts asking me to play my songs.The rules are we give them 3 songs not from our playlist and they decide who has the better music taste.

I chose my 3 songs as:

Moonlight -Kali Uchis 

Open arms-SZA

I Love You So-The Walters

I know, I know my music taste is all over the place but I just chose songs I think they would like.

Nessa's songs are:

Hell n' Back- Bakar (ft. Summer Walker)

See you again-Tyler the Creator (ft. Kali Uchis)

Not gonna lie her music taste not's horrible but I think mine's better.Everyone in the back are huddled up and whispering.I snort thinking of how serious they're taking this.

"we have a decision." Cameron says proudly. "We have decided that..........drumroll please."she says with an eye roll.

We all drumroll waiting for her to continue.

".......... VANESSA MILLER!!!" 

everyone starts clapping and I can't help but see a small smile appear on Nessa's face before she quickly takes it off.

I can't help but clap to, I'm not that shallow okay.

We finally reach the bar and we all step out.All the girls huddle up and walk inside before us.

"I'm so fucked bro."Austin says while rubbing his hand over his face.

I laugh before asking him why.

"I know Avery said Cam is off limits but......."

"You have feelings for her don't you." I finish for him.

"Yeah, I guess I do."

"You're so fucking whipped bro."I say.

"I am not!"he says while punching my arm.

"Trust me you are, it's honestly kinda sad."

"Those words are gonna bite you back in the ass, I guarantee it."

"Hell no, you know I don't do relationships." I say while shaking my head.

He starts laughing before opening the door into the bar.

We walk to the bar tender counter and Austin orders his drink.We sit down on the chairs while me and Austin continue talking for a good 40 minutes while keeping an eye on the girls.I know Austin is over protective of his sister maybe because of having 3 younger sisters but I honestly think he takes it too far sometimes.I mean they're all 21 so they should be able to do their own thing but to be fair I only ever had an older brother so I wouldn't know.

Austin continues sipping on his drink.I'm not a huge drinker, I already had a beer today and I only get wasted if I'm going through shit which has happened multiple times.We continue talking before a pretty blonde sits next to me.

"So are you alone tonight?" She says while trailing her fingers along my arm.

I try hard not to roll my eyes.I've come across these types of girls many times and they do the same thing.Use you, then leave you high and dry.Don't get me wrong I like sex but it get's annoying when that's all that people see you as, someone to use as pleasure.

I'm about to say something when I look back and see someone approach Nessa.He says something to her and she shakes her head.He continues to approach her she pushes him off but he puts his hand on her waist.Before I know it I'm speed walking toward them.

What irritates me the most?Mother fuckers who can't take a hint.

"Get the fuck of her."
