SEASON: FALL
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
JOCELYN gazes at the clouded sky, speckles of rain here and there landing on her cheeks, but she doesn't mind. Enjoying how it feels as she continues to pet her horse's hair, nuzzling into him a bit.
"You alright sweetheart?"
Jocelyn turns her gaze on her mother, a small smile on her face as she walks up to her, patting the back of her head in small strokes.
"Yeah, I'm okay," Jocelyn answered giving a small smile, before pouting a little.
"Reallyyyyyy bored though." She states, her eyes shifting to the side.
Her mother laughs. "I know, I told you, you would want to stay home. Tommy said we should be out of here soon. Then we'll head back, okay?"
"Yeah," Jocelyn huffs. "Dina better wait for me."
"Well, she can't start without power. Movie night?"
"Yup."
"What movie?"
"Breakfast club, our favorite."
The girl's mother nods. "Hm, that's a good one." She offers her another kind smile which the girl returns, basking in her mother's presence. They had been there for days but it felt more like years to the young girl. She didn't want to be left behind in Jackson, it was boring as hell there as well. Not ever getting out much, she thought she would tag along with her mother and her new fiancée, hopeful she would get to shoot something or do anything besides staring at the clouds all day waiting for night, but nope. 'Just as boring as Jackson', she thinks.
"Maria!"
The sound of her name causes the woman's head to swivel around, the man's voice startling the horse as he neighed. "Hey, it's okay, shhhh," In an attempt to soothe her horse, the girl cooed.
"Some people up ahead, better get up here," Tommy calls from above, crouched down and tilting his head towards the gate.
"Stay right here," Maria orders.
Jocelyn nods in response, apprehensive but not scared. Since they had arrived those invaders had been pursuing them, yet they never made it in.
She watches her mother as she ascends the gate's ladder with a rifle in hand.
Jocelyn could hear the individuals in question, a man grunting as he sought to unlock the old Fedra gates, but he was quickly stopped by Jocelyn's mother, cutting off any more of his actions, Tommy and her ready to shoot at the trespassers.
"Don't even think about reaching for your weapon. Tell the girl to drop hers now!"
'Girl?' Jocelyn wonders, her interest peeking as she stepped away from her horse, curiosity getting the best of her.
"Please tell me your lost?" She hears her mother question, not being able to make out the man's response before she watched Tommy slide down the ladder with ease, opening the gate.
"No need."
"What, You know these people?"
"I know him. He's my goddamn brother."
Jocelyn observed Tommy's form vanish behind the gate. Her mother also coming down to say hello. Jocelyn hid a bit behind some supplies and crates, trying her best to see who these trespassers were, her mind racing.
