Yae Miko's Letter
—————————->The wind blew gently, carrying delicate pink cherry blossom petals across the vanilla paper latter Lady Yae Miko was meticulously crafting. Each petal seemed to dance with the memories that spanned centuries, memories that clung to her heart like a bittersweet melody, reminding her of the Shogun's enduring absence.
Miko, despite having to carry a whole nation on her shoulders and practically being ghosted for 500 years by her one true lover, she always found time to write her letter, even if that meant she would never see her again.

My Dearest Shogun,It has been 500 years since you slipped from my embrace into the eternal realm. Your decree of "Eternity" has kept us apart, an insurmountable chasm between us. Each day without you has stretched into an eternity of its own. Days became weeks, weeks turned into months, months morphed into years, and years have now spanned centuries.
Since then, The nation still wonders if their Almighty Shogun will return. They protest, their hearts heavy with longing, demanding a new leader.
Their efforts to replace you have failed time and again, and in their desperation, they have created a new government, electing leaders every few years. None of them possess the strength, wisdom, or grace that you held.
I waited for your return until hope felt like a distant memory. Your son, the failed puppet, has taken over the minds of many in the Sumeru nation. Lesser Lord Kusanali strives to help those who believe they have connected with a god in search of unimaginable knowledge. These lost souls, driven mad by your puppet's influence, wander aimlessly. He is known by many names and is rumored to work with the Fatui, his presence a dark shadow over Sumeru.
The protectors of Mondstadt, Jean and Outrider Amber, have reported similar disturbances. Although your storms have kept him from reaching Inazuma, there was a disruption on Watatsumi Island.
I sent our three best samurai to investigate; only one returned alive. The others were reduced to mere dust upon touch. The lone survivor fell into a coma and soon died of an unknown cause and being touched upon,he also crumbled to dust within contact. And so,Our researchers continue to study this mysterious phenomenon, but the answers remain elusive to this day.
Despite the disasters, the legendary Traveler and Paimon often visit. They miss you dearly and speak of you with reverence, hoping one day to duel you once more. Their determination to improve is their tribute to your legacy. Even if it ment putting a stop on their journey to find their twin.
Ei,
Years have passed since I last saw your smile. Your purple eyes, once so vibrant, now haunt my dreams. I miss our walks through the forest, the cherished memories of Makoto you shared with me. The world feels colder without you at my side.
I remember how you would whine when you had no sweets while reading, forcing me or subjects to get you any. I miss the vibrant purple skies I would gaze at for hours, your soft lips, and your smooth skin against mine. Even when we would sneak away to gaze upon the night stars every so often to exchange thoughts on the world. Every moment without you feels like a wound that will never heal.
I miss you bitterly, Ei. Your nation needs you, but more than anything, I need you. Please, return to us.
With all my heart and patience...,
-Lady Yae Miko
———————————————Yae Miko set her brush down, her hands trembling slightly as she admired the open space around her. She was seated at one of the sacred shrines dedicated to the Shogun, the wind softly rustling her elegant kimono as she stood and walked up the stone steps to the shrine's entrance.
She sighed deeply, waiting for the black ink to dry on the delicate paper before carefully rolling up the letter and placing it in a chest already brimming with other notes and missives she had penned over the years. Just as she sealed the chest, a familiar, high-pitched voice called out to her. "Lady Yae!"
Recognizing the voice immediately, Yae Miko turned with a graceful smile. It was Paimon, the ever-energetic companion of the Traveler. And where Paimon was, the Traveler was never far behind. "Ah, Paimon and the Traveler."
The Traveler was panting heavily, trying to catch their breath. "Oh, Traveler, what brings you to the shrine today?" Yae Miko asked with a mischievous glint in her eye. "W-we came from the—" The Traveler's sentence was abruptly cut off as Yae Miko raised a hand, signaling them to pause. "Catch your breath before you pass out."
The Traveler nodded, taking deep breaths to regain composure. "Something is happening! There's a crowd at the old Vision statue!" Paimon exclaimed with urgency. Without another word, they all rushed toward the statue, where a large crowd had already gathered.
As they approached, the soldiers on duty quickly recognized Lady Yae Miko and began to part the crowd. "MAKE WAY FOR LADY YAE MIKO!" they commanded, their voices firm and authoritative.
The crowd obediently parted, revealing a scene that made Yae Miko's heart race. A mysterious purple glow emanated from the old Vision statue, swirling and expanding into a portal. As the portal stabilized, it revealed a lifeless landscape with a dark, purple sky and strange markings etched into the ground.
Then, a figure emerged from the portal—a figure with unmistakable purple hair and familiar features. Yae Miko's breath caught in her throat as her heart pounded. She felt her soft hands go clammy and sweaty.
"Ei...?" she whispered, almost afraid to believe her own eyes. The figure looked at her puzzled, her dull purple eyes filled with curiosity.
The figure reached out and took a few steps forward, then collapsed, her strength failing her. "EI?! SOMEONE GET HELP NOW!" Yae Miko shouted, her voice a mix of command and desperation. Soldiers immediately dropped their spears and rushed to lift the fallen Archon. "Take her to the shrine. I will look after her and get a healer!"
As they carefully carried Ei, Yae Miko walked beside them, her mind a whirlwind of emotions. The archon's eyelids fluttered, barely open, trying to make sense of the chaos around her. She heard a voice she hadn't heard in centuries, a voice filled with both sorrow and hope.
"Ei, you're back..." Miko whispered as the crowd behind them whispered and gasped. Ei panted softly and felt the presence of her hand holding on to her, gripping softly like a baby's grip.
The name echoed in Ei's mind as she drifted in and out of consciousness, the familiar voice anchoring her as she slipped into darkness. The same one she experienced when she left her whole world, nation, and lover behind. Forgotten like her beloved sister, and previous electro archon, Makato.
