Isaac sleeps peacefully unaware of Thorne sitting at her desk occasionally glancing at him as if to make sure he was still ok, it was dark out, sometime past midnight. The fight had long since been over and Thorne was now planning how she would interrogate her new prisoners. Maybe she'd use the new knife set her first mate had gotten her last year. Oh, how wonderful Neo's screams would sound...
"It's a pity I ended Hans' life so soon, I really would have loved to give him a piece of my mind..." Thorne smiled cruelly at the thought, then quickly shook her head she wasn't usually this cruel towards her prisoners, come to think of it she was mostly just mad at Hans and Neo, the two men who had gotten close to killing Isaac-... "Damn, I should have been more aware of our surroundings" she commented, glancing at Isaac's bandaged shoulder "Then this never would have happened" She ran her fingers through her hair. "Those men shouldn't have gotten close in the first place, let alone been able to attack without me noticing." Her voice got slightly louder in her frustration causing Isaac to stir slightly. Thorne froze and stared at him, waiting to see if he'd wake up. When he didn't she sighed and leaned back in her chair. "Instead I let myself be distracted by-" She stopped, what had she been distracted by?
An image of Isaac's face from earlier in the market as he stared in awe at one of the stalls flashed through her mind. Was she distracted by him? No, it wasn't possible, was it? She risked another glance at his sleeping form and examined him carefully. He was very malnourished but his large eyes, long eyelashes, and silky hair made him look- she shook her head to stop herself, he was cargo. Nothing more. She turned back to her paperwork satisfied now that she'd convinced herself she wasn't distracted because of him.
"It must just be because I'm out of practice, there's no way..." A small mumble from Isaac made her freeze and once more look at the bed. her thoughts spoke up yet again, It's... he's... ADORABLE..! Thorne's eyes widened slightly and she smacked her face. "Dang it woman control yourself!" She yelled angrily. Isaac sat up slightly blinking drowsily.
"What..? Who're you talking to?" He slurred still half asleep, Thorne glared at him angrily. He could see her teeth clenching.
"IT'S NOTHING THAT CONCERNS YOU GO BACK TO SLEEP!" she turned back to her paperwork. Isaac blinked bewildered but was still tired so he didn't say anything, he had never seen her so mad before.
(In Thorne's mind) *He's cargo, he's cargo, he's cargo, he's cargo, he's cute- DAMN IT! I mean yes he is but- NO! You're a captain damn it! Act like one!* She banged her head against her desk, startling and almost back to sleep Isaac awake once again.
"hey, 're you ok..?" Isaac questioned his speech still sounding slurred and slow, partially because he was half-asleep but mostly due to the pills the doctor gave him.
"Yes fine." She sat back up and smoothed out her coat "Just mad that those Pricks damaged my cargo." This was partly true...
"You were worried about me?" He watched as she wrote something in her captain's log.
"Well you're important cargo-" she started turning to face him but froze. He had the most adorable smile she had ever seen plastered across his face. "Ahem... you're valuable is what I'm saying." it was too late Isaac noticed her falter and his smile widened.
"don't worry if you can't resist me, not many women can." normally Isaac would never say something like this, but he was a bit loopy from the pills. Thorne rolled her eyes, knowing he couldn't possibly know *that* many women. Isaac grinned at her goofily. "by the way, why is the room spinning?!" he asked trying to sit up
"wow, whatever the doctor gave you must have been strong..." Thorne said wondering if she should be concerned or amused. "just lie down and go back to sleep, before you hurt yourself." there was a thud as Isaac tumbled out of the bed. "yes, like that." Thorne sighed getting up and walking over to help him.
"you're pretty" Isaac stated sounding proud of himself for telling her such a thing as she helped him sit up.
"so I've heard." Thorne had received compliments from men before, this was nothing. She gripped his arm planning to help him back into bed but Isaac reached up and hugged her tightly, pressing his face into her neck with a soft hum.
"gah!-" Thorne stumbled back startled, tripping on her own feet she landed on the floor with a soft thud "Ow... you-" Isaac pressed his nose against hers rubbing gently, with a soft smile. Before climbing onto her lap like a cat and hugging her waist. "I-... you-... what?!" Thorne looked down at his face mostly shocked but slightly amused.
"Hmmm..." he mumbled softly as he started to fall back asleep. Thorne was too shocked to do anything except let him stay. Then with a sigh she relaxed allowing herself to lie down, blushing slightly.
"he's just cargo so it doesn't matter... right? Besides I'm sure the medicine will wear off soon, and then he'll be back to normal."
