The sweet fragrance of freshly pulled out of chill blueberry cheesecake fills the air, Eri fights the urge to take her third slice of the cake but it is so tempting. Good thing Mark was there holding her purse so she can't purchase it even if she gave in with the temptation.
The cafe is a sanctuary for these two friends(colleague), where time seems to slow down.
"You know, It's draining me." Tumaas ang kilay ni Mark sa sinabi ng kanyang kaibigan.
"What? Ikaw, napagod? That's new, you're so dedicated at your work. What made the difference now?"
Eri took the last bite of her cake, crumbs melting in her mouth.
"Kahit na mahal ko trabaho ko, nae-exhaust din naman ako. What if we just... took off today?"
"I like where this is going, what's on your mind miss spontaneous?"
Grinning as he saw her leans in; this little mannerism of Eri whenever she gets new ideas is what he always look forward to. Napakalikot nang utak ng dalaga which is a match with his kaya kahit ano mang trip nito ay sinasakyan niya they are known to be partners in crime.
"It's Ber months, this is the only time of the year when I want to spend it at Baguio. Hindi ka maniniwala pero I have never been there."
"Huh? You always talk about how great that city is and seems to know the ins and outs pero hindi ka pa pala nakakapunta? What are you- a human GPS now? Don't lie, Eri."
She scoffs at him, fighting to urge to flick his forehead dahil ayaw niyang gumawa ng eksena dahil sa mapang-asar nyang kaibigan.
'Hindi ba pwedeng it's her dream destination??' she thought to herself.
"You don't have to believe me. Basta gusto kong pumunta doon, today."
"Now? Pa-Baguio? Are you serious?"
"Yup! Alam mo naman na I never go back when I made a decision. No plans, no itinerary, just us and the open road, let's get lost in their city."
She sounded so enthusiastic than how she was when they enter this cafe, nadala rin naman si Mark sa kanya. A little escape won't hurt, he guess.
"So, are you in?" she asks.

He glared at the screen of his phone, weekend ngayon pero look at this unprofessional tl they have he won't cut them some slack lagi na lang silang hinahabol to work. It was the last straw for Mark to nod to his friend's mad idea.
"You're crazy, let's go"
"Talaga ba? tuloy tayo? huwag mo akong paasahin Mark."
"Oo nga, let's drop by our units for our things magbaon ka na din ng kape. We will hit the road as soon as possible."
"Sige! Ako na din ang bahala sa road playlist natin."
