•Chapter 2: Welcome to reality

Here I am finally in Mystic Falls after hours of flying, it's incredible how much I hate flying.
Not because I'm afraid of it but because of this hellish expectation, especially when a vampire of 1000 prefers to have fun with his reflection rather than having a cultivated conversation with you. I drag my luggage to the parking lot with Jace's help and take the opportunity to breathe the good air of my city.
Jace: Unfortunately I have to abandon you urgently in this dingy old parking lot to join what serves Kol as a family.

He kisses me and disappears like a stream of air alongside Kol, I find myself alone in the middle of the evening in a parking lot, great.
I walk forward and get to my car which luckily is still there, I put my suitcases inside and hurry to start the car to go home.
I missed my mom so much and I didn't tell her I was coming home today and I can't wait to see her face. Arriving in my neighborhood, I park the car two streets away and finally reach my house.
I slowly open the front door and slip into the kitchen, she is sitting quietly on her couch reading.
Talia: Surprise!
Fays: My darling, I missed you so much, come here so I can hold you in my arms.
I drop my things and hug her tightly, she doesn't look as surprised as I thought but I don't care, I can find the only family I have left.
Talia: Did you know?
Fays: You know Damon right? He blurted out the word without intention.
Talia: I won't tell anyone next time.
Fays: My darling, listen, a lot has happened during your absence, you should go to your room, Caroline is there..
Talia: Mom, what happened?
Fays: His father died.
I hurry up to my room to find Caroline on my bed wiping her eyes, when I walk through the door she turns and smiles sadly at me. I hurry to join her and take her in my arms, I can understand what she is going through, they had finally become closer and now he dies..
Talia: I'm so sorry.

As soon as I arrive I have to find myself in a hospital, I must not lose a minute. I warn mom and immediately take my car towards the hospital. At reception I ask for Alaric's room number but there is no way to visit him. I walk towards the waiting room and see Matt getting a coffee.
I join him and hug my second favorite blonde before asking him questions about what happened.
He begins with the murder of Bill Forbes and begins to talk about the attack on Alaric but is quickly interrupted by Elena. A worried look turns into a big smile followed by a big hug.
Elena: How are you?
Talia: Fine, but I'm going to turn the question around, Matt told me everything, I'm so sorry for leaving with the murders and everything else..
Elena: No, you don't have to blame yourself, you had to find signs of your family..
As far as Alaric is concerned, he is resigned to having passed at night under observation but he is fine, I had to promise him to change the locks on the entrance.
I also had Bonnie earlier, she's doing well but I'm worried about Caroline.
Talia: I saw them, she's holding up even after becoming quite close to her father.
Matt: Do you know more about assault?

I rush out followed by Elena but there's nothing, she decides to get into the car but is stopped by Rebekah who grabs her and pins her against the car. I grab her by the throat and pull her away but she breaks my arm and throws me to the ground, I get up and try to reach her before she sinks her fangs into her throat but Elijah arrives as if by magic and stops her little sister.
Elijah: You leave them!
Rebekah: Leave it to me.
Talia: Touch it and your barbie hair will disappear.
Elijah: Would you dare not obey me?
Rebekah: You're pathetic and so are you...
Elena helps me get up, I put my arm back in place which still hurts, this dirty bitch is going to pay me back one of these days, I promise.
Elijah: Talia, I'm glad to see you again and sorry about my sister..
Talia: Me too Elijah, I told you to stop insulting me. Elijah: I'm sure I'm used to it, Kol wishes me your... Your presence in Mystic Falls, I see that you get along well with my brother.
Talia: He's a charming man when he wants to be, but I don't think he'll get along from there.

Elijah delivers a letter with writing Esther to
Elena and without going as if nothing had happened. After making sure I'm okay, Elena takes us back to her place and during the whole trip she asks me questions about Kol, after eating I quickly collapse on the bed.
