That day I had to meet up with Arthur. I put on a nice suit. Some time passed before I found the park. A short time later I turned up. It seemed that El and Arthur were really good friends.
I greeted her in a friendly manner: "Hi, I'm Ben, we go to the same university." She seemed relieved and greeted me. I asked Arthur, mumbling, "Didn't you tell her?" Arthur shook his head. He spoke casually, "Why don't we go out for dinner?" She nodded in agreement.
We went to a luxury restaurant. Arthur and I were well dressed, but she was not at all elegantly dressed, which upset her. Everyone stared at her as we walked in, everyone was dressed nicely except her. It was terribly embarrassing for her. We sat down at a table.
After a while, the waiter came and politely asked, "What can I get you?" We said what we wanted. It was pretty boring until we waited for the food. "Arthur, why don't you tell me how things are going with your girlfriend?" "It couldn't be better. I'll probably visit her soon," he said with a big grin. "Where does she live again?" I asked. "In Barcelona, Spain..." Suddenly Eleonore started coughing loudly, as if she had choked. Her eyes were full of fear. But why? "Eleonore, are you all right?" I asked anxiously, offering her a napkin. "And Leo, how is university?" Arthur asked with interest. "Nothing special, just some Ines ruined my sketchpad by spilling coffee on it. Your friend probably remembers that," she said without making a face, which scared me a little.
I apologised: 'I'm really very sorry. I didn't mean it like that. I just wanted to continue reading my book in peace." "What book were you reading?" "Lord of the Rings. It's my favourite book," I replied. We chatted and after an eternity, the food arrived.
I noticed a familiar face, but there was no way they could have found me. It was Carlos and Mara, two people I knew too well. Carlos and Mara started talking loudly. They were at the table opposite us. It didn't seem like an argument, but it wasn't a normal conversation either. He took off his hat and, typically for him, there was a gun underneath it.
Carlos picked up the gun and shot the woman in cold blood and started shooting around. Her head had exploded like a bomb and there were pieces of her brain all over the wall.
I almost ran away without her, but then I saw her find the situation too stressful as she remained rooted to the floor. It seemed like she could faint at any second. I took her by the hand and we hid under the table. I said carefree, even though I couldn't think straight from shock: "Everything will be fine. We just have to wait here for a moment and then you'll run away quickly." "But what about you?" she asked worriedly, almost in tears. I just waved her off and whispered that she should run away now. She ran off without looking back.
I walked away slowly. About 20 people died.
When Arthur, When I wanted to go out, I pretended not to know what exactly had happened.
But then I saw Arthur, who was frightened to death and white as a ghost. He said to me, frightened: "Ben, how can you be so calm? A woman has just been killed in front of us." "Says the right man." He looked at me without regret and said, "I'm not going to cry over people like that. I don't care about them."
As we walked out, I saw her looking at us, pale as a sheet. Shortly afterwards we agreed to call the police. "What about the man?" she asked worriedly with tears in her eyes. We both looked at her in shock as she never cried or showed any emotion. Arthur tried to keep his cool. He said coldly, "It's nothing important. Let's get out of here as soon as possible." I said I had something important to do.
I went back to the restaurant and ran to Carlos. Carlos was an associate of my father's who worked for my family. But what was he doing here? And why was he killing people? And how did they find me? Carlos looked at me with joy as he tore the key chain from Mara's body: 'Well, we meet again. Your father was worried you wouldn't cause any trouble. I see you've found a girl. Isn't her name Eleonore?" I just looked at him in shock and didn't ask. "Don't forget, your father is expecting you to visit him soon," he looked at me reproachfully and walked away.
That same day, just a little later, I went to meet an old acquaintance who was studying law in Paris, specialising in criminology. She was sitting at a table arguing with a waiter. When she saw me, she called out to me: "Hey Ben, come on!" I smiled: "Hey Angie. Why are you fighting with someone again?" "Jake called me pretty again. And you know how I react when Jake says that. It makes me want to punch him in the face." Angie was a relatively short person, but she often wore high heels to make herself look taller.
The women was wearing a short tight black dress, a black blazer and black platform pumps. She wore her blonde hair up. Angie looked beautiful as always. The waiter, called Jake, returned: "How can I help you?" "Well, first of all, Jake, why do you work in every restaurant I go to? Are you following me? You idiot!" Angie got angry. The young man said charmingly: "Not at all. Fate brought us together. Please just give me one more chance, Angie" "Dream on, you idiot! I told you I don't want anything from you. Ben and I are together, so let me enjoy my date in peace," she said angrily. I looked at her in shock. Jake looked sad and disappeared. Angie laughed angrily, 'Well, he's gone now. I'm sorry about him. I had to get rid of him. Now tell me, why did you want to meet me?"
I didn't know how to do this to her, maybe I had to. "You see, I really care about you. And I think you should know that Scar is back, I think. Because I saw Carlos and Mara today. Carlos killed about 20 people." "So you're telling me that my ex is here in Paris. But how is that possible? We moved to another country," she said angrily.
