Abrupt Encounter [Joongdunk]

6. stolid smile

Pond steps into hospital building, smell of medication and bustling sounds of patient’s harsh breathings makes his heart race even further, he always hated hospitals, no matter how sick he would be he would refuse to go there, it’s worse than the sickness itself, he would feign that he was fine to his mother silently begging with his eyes to not go to that building, the smell alone makes his condition worse

His mother….

He fastens his pace, runs to the corridor, scanning numbers of the palates to find 128 signed on the entrance, he has been told that his mother is in that room, that she fainted, that she needed surgery immediately, that she needed a brain surgery.

Pond’s mind went blank as soon as he heard those words, he was standing in front of his boyfriend. they should’ve went to his house for the night to celebrate, to celebrate that pond graduated, today, he was smiling to his boyfriend at that second, anticipating so badly that it’s just gonna be them tonight, pond finally graduated from high school, now he can join phuwin in university life – he is not as smart as his boyfriend who is already on his second year at uni because he was just way smarter than others  – he had been waiting for this so long.

back then when he was studying with his boyfriend, but in reality he just wanted to spend more time with him just staring at phuwin until he scolded him

“you need to study hard and then we will finally live together as we promised"

Pond’s eyes would shine bright with newly given motivation, his boyfriend could always give him hope for things that pond already didn’t believed in, but he trusted phuwin the most, every word coming out of his mouth was truth for pond.

They would live together in phuwin’s apartment that was close to his university, but first pond needed to get accepted in there, he worked hard for it even though he hates studying his boyfriend believes in him - that he will get accepted, because both of them worked hard.

pond would slightly rise up from the chair pressing one of his hands on the desk that was covered in papers and books, sneak other hand toward phuwin’s neck and quickly press his lips against his until his boyfriend could react – phuwin didn’t like interruptions during studying – he loved how at that moment phuwin’s brows frowned ,eyes widening at the suddenness but after seeing pond’s bright smile he would mimic it, smiling to pond before telling him that it’s not the time for that, they will have all the time if pond gets acceptance letter, and when they would move together

So pond was standing in front of phuwin - still in his graduation form, far from schools building - it was just them here, pond loved when it was just them -  smiling like a idiot in love, he was indeed in love with the person in front of him, so deeply, his eyes were speaking itself, telling phuwin “we did it” pressing phuwin forward pulling him in hug just as deep as their love, his boyfriend’s smaller body glued to him, pond’s arms sneaked around phuwin’s waist- pond’s favorite place to rest his hands

“you did well, am proud of you babe” pond melted at his voice, his praises, pressing him harder

“it’s all because of you”

Right at that beautiful moment when pond was feeling beyond happiness, when all his mind was just about the boy in front of him, as they were imagining their life together, living together- so soon. how it exited them, how his unexpressive boyfriend was becoming more loving to him, how it would happen in just a few weeks…

But one call ended  pond’s growing thoughts instantly

“your mother had been submitted to hospital, she fainted during work and possibly can’t handle the growing cancer, we will discuss surgery as soon as we talk with her relatives ”
