Chapter #27
" Yo! Bro! Whom are you calling this late? " Aerum jumps in front of Mark, leaning on him. He looks away from the phone to aerum who has a big grin on her lips. Mark playfully rolls his eyes and bops his palm on her forehead, shoving her off gently.
The cold wind of late February was whipping through the trees, creaking and groaning like an old rocking chair. Both siblings were standing Outside of the hospital building, near the large tree that turned green as the spring approached.
" Where is Miri? " Mark asked, she sat on the bench behind them as Mark kept on standing." She is with Jinwoo, I don't know why they like Avengers, they both go crazy over them. And I left both fools " she grimaced, rolling her eyes.
The wind brushes on her exposed skin, causing her to shiver and put her hands inside of her cardigan.
Mark nodded. Looking over his shoulder, Mark observed her shivering as he walked and sat beside her. "You didn't tell me who you are calling this late? " she cooed, hiding deeper inside the cardigan. "You will catch a cold, Go inside" bringing her closer and wrapping his scarf around her neck.
It was getting suspicious of her when he kept changing the topic, aerum's eyes narrowed, as she sighed.
Aerum looked up at him, her cheeks were red from the wind, her slightly red lip from her biting it anxiously and stray pieces of hair falling over her face.
"You're changing the topic, Mark" Mark looks away, avoiding eye contact. He didn't say anything, fiddling with his fingers. Aerum sighed as she placed a hand on his shoulder, gaining his attention. "it's okay, you don't have to tell me now " she smiled.
"Mom..." he said, unlocking his phone as he got back to what he was doing. Aerum's smile fell instantly, fingers clenched tightly. She felt cold sweats under the layers of clothes.
The sudden change in the aura forced Mark to dart his eyes on aerum. " It's not your fault aerum " Mark assures and gently places his hands on either side of her shoulder as she looks up.
" I know, " she smiles, a fake one. " Mom knows what happened, she is coming from the first flight, but all the flights got canceled due to bad weather in Canada". Mark informed. She senses the uneasiness in Mark's voice. Although she is already aware of it, still feels uneasy about it.
Aerum tries to swallow the information. "But she can be here as soon as the weather calms down," he continues. " Mark, I don't know what to do," The boy shot her an apologetic look and sighed, before pulling her in a warm hug.
"It will be alright...aerum," he said, aerum closed her eyes, whilst Mark put his hand on her hair and stroked it.
"It really will..."

Aerum and her classmate Herin were making their way back to their seats in the crowded university cafeteria, balancing their trays of lunch while chatting about their classes. They were enjoying a light-hearted conversation, laughing and discussing their next class.
