a cold, chilling breeze washes over hyunjin. he sighs, staring into the distance. he is headed straight to the northern water tribe, disguised as a mere fisher lost at sea. there was no turning back now—he is set on completing his given task.

"it's too fucking cold for this." hyunjin complains, rowing the boat. being a firebender and all, he's not used to these freezing conditions. some firebending would be especially useful now, but he fears it could blow his cover especially since he is now in unknown waterbender territory.

he huddles into his coat, his hand instinctively reaching over to touch the bandage covering his left eye. he felt a eerie silence come over. only the sound of waves and occasional birds could be heard. it felt like he was rowing for an eternity, and at that moment, he let himself succumb to the tiredness.

"man, it sucks being here sometimes ya know!" han exclaims, throwing his hands up in the air in frustration.

"what's wrong this time?" minho rolls his eyes as seungmin and jeongin snickered from behind.

"i mean, i can barely ever earthbend around here. it's all ice! some solid ground would be nice..." han grunts, lazily throwing himself on the bed.

"calm down hannie, there's some areas we can bend at." felix laughs. "don't be such a downer!"

"yea, whatever. it would be a lot easier if there wasn't a huge ice wall surrounding the city!" han groans. "i just feel sometimes powerless. don't you guys feel the same?"

changbin nods. "i agree with han. it's a hassle trying to reach the ground through this ice."

"i know it's hard getting used to a new place, but it's better we stay together as a group." chan interjects. "you all are talented benders and we're an excellent team of warriors. we need as much help in protecting the last tribe that hasn't fallen into the hands of the fire nation yet."

minho tenses up, glaring at chan. "yet?"

"oh... uhm... he didn't mean it like that minho!" felix quickly reassures. "chan just meant—"

"i don't want to hear it, felix." minho snaps, earning the attention of all the members.

"look, i didn't mean for it come out like that minho. no need to be so harsh." chan attempts to explain. he begins to walk closer to the latter, but is met with a stern shove to the shoulder as minho walks straight past him to the door.

"choose your words carefully next time, chan." minho warns before leaving the room.

a silence took over thereafter, felix noting the rather saddened expression plastered on chan's face. "it's okay," he says as he goes in for a hug, "he's just having one of those days i suppose."

"i guess so." chan sighs.
