Lucian

I peer deeply into her eyes, uncovering the concealed tremor of fear within them.
It's subtle, but unmistakable. No falsehoods can escape my notice, and her bravado is a thin veil over the terror lurking beneath.

"Oh, testing me, are you?" I murmur, my voice a soft, dangerous caress.

I cradle the side of her face gently, my thumb brushing away the tears that spill over her cheeks. She cringes away from my touch, tears collecting in her lower lid.

"I can show you exactly how much of a monster I can be,"

"You're twisted," she spits, struggling to free her arms.

But my grip tightens, forcing her hands to remain pinned. Her resistance only fuels the dark pleasure curling within me. An evil smirk creeps across my face as I lean in close, my lips brushing against her ear.

"That, I am, dearest angel. And I won't show you any mercy,"

I feel her jaw tighten, and she looks away, trying to hide the fear that flickers in her eyes. But I meant every word I spoke, no mercy at all.

The thought echoes in my mind as I watch her.
How much longer can she keep up this facade of courage? The cracks are already showing, and it's only a matter of time before she breaks.
And I'm willing to bet, she'll be easy to break. I want to devour her whole and destroy her.

"Why torment me like this?" she demands, shooting me a fierce look.

Her eyes shimmer with unshed tears, and a few escape to trail down her cheeks.

"What do you accomplish?" Her voice is barely a whisper.

I remain silent, choosing to ignore her question. Instead, I focus on the way her body trembles, the way her breath hitches. She tilts her head up, her eyes locking onto mine with an innocent, hopeful gaze, silently pleading for an answer.

"You are mine, angel. I'm going to keep you forever,"

The raw emotion in her eyes is a mix of dread and resignation, and I know she understands the depth of my resolve. Her breathing shudders underneath me.

"I will not hesitate to remove any obstacle that stands in my way."

Her eyes widen, a flicker of shock mingling with the fear that already pools in their depths.
She retorts, her breath catching in her throat.

"Obstacle?"

There's a tremor in her words, a desperate plea for clarity. I push myself off of her, adjusting my attire. If she chooses to disobey me, I can only return such brutality as punishment.
I can feel her eyes on me, watching every move, every breath. Then she rises from the bed behind me, her movements hesitant and uncertain.
She stands there, a fragile figure caught in the web of my intentions.

"I will never be yours. I refuse, Lucian,"

My gaze locks onto hers, unyielding and cold.

"Do not play games you cannot win, Violet."

Her jaw clenches, and she snaps her head up with a fierce determination. "I am not your possession," she declares, her voice unwavering.

  "I never will be."

The fire in her eyes ignites something deep within me. Part of me wants to extinguish that flame, to calm her defiance. Yet, another part of me is mesmerized, wanting to see that fire blaze even brighter.

"You think you have a choice?" I say, my voice tinged with a hint of amusement, almost breaking into laughter. "This isn't a request, it's a command. You will obey me. It's not just a rule—it's the very essence of your fucking existence."
