I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself as I immediately cover my chest with my clothing.
His gaze feels like it's piercing through me, a tangible force I can almost feel on my skin.

I force myself to ignore it and walk past him.

"Did I say you could leave?"

I freeze in front of the door, my hand hovering just inches from the handle. Slowly, I turn to face him, finding his eyes already locked on me.

His stare is intense, unwavering, and it sends a shiver down my spine. I scoff, trying to mask my unease, and cross my arms over my chest, a feeble attempt at defiance.

We engage in a silent battle of wills, our eyes locked in a fierce contest. Time seems to stretch, each second dragging on, until I realize he wasn't going to back down.

"I wish to leave."

He smirks, the expression slow, playing on his lips as he walked towards me.
My stomach knots tighter with every inch he closes between us. Just when I think he's going to open the door, he stops right in front of me.

His imposing height makes me feel small, and my breathing shudders. My arms drop to my sides, and I turn my head away, unable to meet his intense gaze.

"Say it correctly." His tone is cold, unyielding, leaving no room for defiance. "You address me, and you look at me."

I clench my fists, nails digging into my palms as I muster up the courage to lift my head. I swallow hard, trying to push down the knot of pride that threatens to choke me.

"I wish to leave... please," I say, my voice trembling as I force myself to look him in the eye.

The word feels foreign on my tongue, but I hold his gaze, refusing to back down. His face remained stoned, but there's a subtle shift in his expression.

"Lucian," I finally address him.

He smirks, his muscles relaxing in satisfaction. I tremble, feeling him move closer until we brush against each other. Just then, he reaches out, and my body tenses up, but instead of what I expect, he simply opens the door.

I finally manage to breathe, the tension slowly releasing from my chest. I take a step back, my eyes never leaving his. Gathering strength, I turn and leave, the door closing softly behind me.

As I walk down the hallway, my thoughts clashes.
I need to be careful, to always stay one step ahead.

I walk to my room, each step feeling heavier than the last, I button my shirt halfway up. As I push open the door and step inside, I can't help but feel trapped.

Lucian is a fucking jerk.

"Where were you?" His sudden voice startles me, sending a jolt of fear through my body.

I look up quickly, my eyes meeting with Silas's. Anger flares up inside me. How dare he show up here, now of all times? Doesn't he understand the danger we're in?

"Silas? Why are you here?"

Silas leans against the wall, a casual smirk playing on his lips. His relaxed demeanor feels like a slap in the face, each second of his indifference fuels my anger.

He crosses his arms, looking completely unbothered by the gravity of the situation.

"Relax, Doll," he says in an arrogant tone, his words fills with a confidence that makes my blood boil.
