A soft hum floats from the air conditioning sitting in the window, the rest of the room filled with the soft sound of Elvis' voice.

Daphne's finger reaches up to her lip, wiping the small amount of lipstick from her skin off.

"Are you almost ready?" Connie sits up from Daphne's bed. "My dear Connie, will you ever learn patience." Daphne's blank expression is replaced with a grin. She glances at Connie in the mirror for a moment, her gaze shifting back to herself after.

"What kind of a question is that? No, obviously." Connie rolls her eyes playfully and grins as well.

"I still don't know why you have to drag me along with the Cobras." She turns around to Connie, smoothing out her dress as she does. "Because at this point they're your friends too." She shrugs.

"Connie I've met them 2 times." She sighs and shakes her head. "I'm ready."

"Great! Let's go." Connie stands up immediately and starts walking towards the door, her skirt swaying with every movement. Daphne groans and follows after Connie.

"Y'know, I dunno why you're complaining, they're nice guys.. Sometimes... And they're fun to hangout with." Connie shrugs as she speaks.

"I'm complaining because I don't enjoy awkward conversation and seeing you and your boyfriend make out." She replies as she opens the door for Connie. Connie rolls her eyes at her statement. "It's not like we're making out 24/7."

"Yeah.. It kinda is Connie." She snickers and slides into the passenger seat of Connie's car. Connie ignores her and starts driving, her fingers lightly tapping against the steering wheel. "Ignoring me isn't gonna make it any less true." She laughs at Connie playfully, dragging out the 'e' in true as she speaks. Connie rolls her eyes dramatically again.

As they arrive to Billy's house Connie sighs, "Just try to have fun, okay?" She smiles softly and they both get out of the car, Connie wiping her hands on her skirt softly.

"No promises." Daphne grins at Connie and they start walking inside together, the sound of loud music coming from inside the house.

Connie opens the door for Daphne and they step inside together, Connie spotting Vince immediately and walking up to him.

"Hey, Vince, 'you know where Billy and Ace are?" She shouts over the music. Vince shakes his head and Connie walks away from Daphne and him.

"Wait- Connie!-" Daphne attempts to follow Connie, the crowd making it difficult for her to navigate inside the house. She sighs and shakes her head before stepping into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. She reaches for a bottle of water on the counter and opens it, taking a long sip of it.

She turns around and sees Ace on the other side of the kitchen, pouring himself a drink. "Hey, Ace!" She steps up to him and yells over the music.

Ace turns around and grins. "Hey." He looks around quickly before his gaze lands back on Daphne. "Let's go outside."

He reaches out for her arm and guides her to the back yard. "Did Connie drag you here again?" He takes a seat on the ground at the base of a tree in Billy's back yard.

"Yep." She sighs and sits next to him. "Y'know I think shes only inviting me so we'll get together." She chuckles and wipes her hands off on her pants, setting her water bottle next to her after.

"That's what Billy told me her 'Master Plan' was." He chuckles, doing air quotes at 'Master Plan'.

"Oh yeah?" She lets out a laugh and shakes her head. "She's crazy." Daphne grins.

"Oh yeah, she'll be in the loony bin before age 20 for sure." He jokes, a grin forming on his face.

A laugh slips past Daphne's lips and she looks around the yard. "Careful, she might have super hearing." She hold back a laugh, trying to keep a straight and serious face. Ace burst out laughing, Daphne joining him in the laughter after a moment.

"You're nothing like everyone told me, y'know?" She smiles softly, her eyes scanning his face.
"That's a first." He chuckles. "What'd they tell you, hm?"

"Well.." She sighs and lays back on the grass. "They said you're mean and a bad person, but I don't see that? Connie and I have tried our whole lives to stay away from 'guys like you' but I don't think we really needed too." She turns her head to look at Ace as he lays down next to her.

"You're really.. Nice, actually. I never would have known that if Connie didn't drag me along that one day." She smiles.

"No ones ever really said that about me or the other guys. They all say we're no good hoodlums who don't deserve to see the light of day." Ace sighs and looks over at Daphne.

Daphne's eyes rake over his face, flickering to his lips before they snap back to his own eyes. "I don't think like that." She whispers, her voice slightly raspy and her mind flooded with the thoughts of his lips on hers.

Ace nods, "I know." His hand reaches up to her jaw, cupping her face softly. His thumb rubbing against her skin as they simply just lie there, eyes locked and breathing synced.

Ace leans in slowly, his breath hitching slightly at the closeness. "Ace.." Her voice is a hushed whisper as her eyes flicker to his lips once again. Ace closes the gap between their lips, their lips meeting in a soft kiss.
