Ron's POV
If you'd told me a month ago that I'd be in a boardroom with a girl named Clay—my brilliant and stunning new PA—trying to breathe new life into a failing watch company, I would've laughed in your face. But here we were, two weeks into this crazy venture, head over heels for each other, and somehow managing to turn Vikings Group into a business that was starting to look as promising as our relationship felt.
Vikings Group wasn't the kind of project you'd choose if you had any sense of self-preservation. It was a small, underfunded company specializing in quality watches, but it was suffocating in an industry overtaken by smartphones and fast fashion. But I had this crazy idea of how we could transform it—with Clay, who always had this way of making everything more complicated and better at the same time. What started as a risky business decision had quickly turned into something else entirely—something fun, something that made me laugh a little too much and fall head over heels for Clay.
"Alright, Ron," Clay said, her voice practically buzzing with excitement as she sat across from me at the sleek, glass table in her office. "We've got two weeks to do the impossible: revive Vikings Group. What's our game plan?"
I didn't respond right away; I was still lost in her beauty. Clay had this way of leaning forward that made her glasses slip down her nose just a fraction, and I found myself distracted by how effortlessly charming she looked. She had on that burnt orange suit—absolutely stunning. And she'd decided to change her hairstyle yesterday, which she didn't even send me a picture of. I swear, she literally took my breath away this morning when I saw her. The way her brown eyes sparkled behind those glasses was just a little too captivating for my own good.
"We need to acknowledge the elephant in the room. This industry is dying. But, if we play our cards right, we can turn this company into a niche market darling," she said.
I smirked, leaning back in my chair, playing it cool, even though my heart was racing. "A niche market darling? That's ambitious."
"And who doesn't love a little ambition?" she replied, flashing me a flirtatious grin. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, ambitious. What's our first move?" I asked, my voice softening. I loved seeing her mind at work. My baby was brilliant.
"Rebranding," she said, leaning in, lowering her voice for dramatic effect, making me smile. "We need to modernize Vikings Group's image without losing the essence of what made it special in the first place."
"Rebranding. I like it. But we also need innovation. The watches need to stand out," I tapped my chin thoughtfully. A surge of excitement buzzed through me. "Let's think about diversifying the product line too. Maybe integrate some smart features, but with a classic design. We'll blend tradition with technology."
