Caesar's POV
"I shall take my leave." Kaswal na sabi sa akin ni Philip nang makapasok siya rito sa opisina ko sa bahay ni Penelope.
Natigilan ako sa pagbabasa ng mga kontrata na tungkol sa negosyo namin ni Penelope dahil sa sinabing iyon ni Philip.
Saan naman siya pupunta?
Di ko siya pinansin at nagpatuloy sa ginagawa.
Bumuntong hininga siya. Mukhang alam niyang wala akong planong pakawalan aiya rito.
"Avila is requesting my assistance."
Nakuha niya agad ang atensyon ko sa sinabi niyang iyon. Nag-angat ako ng tingin. Taas noo siyang nakatayo sa lamesa ko.
"It's urgent."
Di ako nagsalita ng ilang segundo dahil wala naman akong nakikitang dahilan kung bat siya gustong pauwiin ni Avila. Wala rin namang naging problema sa bahay na di ko nalalaman.
"Master, let me go." Sabi niya na may pagmamakaawa pa sa boses.
Kinuha ko ang glasses ko at bored siyang tinignan.
"First, it's mistress Avila for you. Second, I don't see any reason why I should let you go. Third, why did she request for you?"
Tumango naman siya. "Avila- I mean mistress Avila called me to assist her on preparing for the party you two are going to attend next month."
Kumunot ang noo. "Why does she needs you for? Can Michael or Lilith do it-"
"They can't do it."
Umiling ako at bumalik sa binabasa.
He lacked of information as well as reason. He's working for me, not for Avila.
Natigilan ako nang lumapit si Philip sa mesa ko at hinawakan iyon sabay yuko sa akin.
"They can't do it because they are not part of the underworld." Mariin niyang sabi.
Doon na niya nakuha ang buong atensyon ko. Binaba ko ang papel. Tumayo naman siya ng maayos.
"It's good that you took my advice on bringing Avila to the party. By now, from the looks of it, she already know what's going to happen at the party."
"Of course she knew. I told her."
"No." Sabay iling ni Philip. "All of your father's guest are part of the underworld. This is not just announcing his retirement but also showing you how much power he has."
Determinadong nakatingin sa akin si Philip na para bang dapat ko siya paniwalaan at naniniwala ako sa sinasabi niya.
Philip is also my guide because he's also been part of underworld before. I always took his advice seriously. He never once fail me.
It's just because he's a former member of underground, he only has limited knowledge on what's going on at the recent day.
"Let me go." May pag-uutos niyang sabi.
"I hate your tone." That's the truth. I hate when people order me around. Especially when I'm his boss.
Pumikit naman siya at kinalma ang sarili bago dumilat.
"Please." Dagdag niya pa.
"Report to me everything once you're there."
