The sound of thunder and lightning woke up Sara. She got up with a bolt. She looked at the window infront of her - it was closed but fogged, water droplets collected on the glass. She sat there on her bed, still trying to process where she was. Few seconds later, realisation hit her, she was in her room, in Mumbai. Sara rubbed her hands on her face. She was still tired and wanted to sleep for some more time. The fatigue of the past 20 days was catching up to her. 
You, yourself planned for it Sara, she thought.
And that was true. Sara had finished her semester exams and was having a vacation. She had come back to India from London. Instead of staying at home, she decided to go on a Europe trip with her girl gang. Before this trip, she had gone on a trip with her family.  For some reason, Sara wanted to travel and explore the world as much as she could during this vacation and now, she was regretting the decision. She was jet lagged and tired. 
She falls back into the bed, finally deciding that she will sleep for some more time. 
Just then, she received a notification on her phone. It was a message from her bestfriend  Alysha. 
Alysha : I'll reach your place by 8. We'll go together. 
Sara groaned and kept her phone aside. 
She was supposed to attend her friend Rhea's birthday party but was in no mood, whatsoever. 
It was now 2:00 pm. Sara thought of sleeping for some time before deciding about the party. With this thought, she covered herself completely with the blanket and slept.

“Sara..Sara…. SARA” The loud calling of her name reached her ears. She groaned and removed the blanket from her face only to see Alysha towering over her. 
“What the hell, Sara!!! Are you still sleeping??” Alysha asked, her hands on her waist. 
“What time is it ?” Sara asked, getting up and sitting in an upright position. 
“It's 8:15,” Alysha said, sitting on the bed. 
“Wait!! I slept the entire day ??” Sara said,shocked. 
“Apparently yes. You slept an entire day” Alysha said, as a matter of fact.
Sara leaned back resting against the pillows and said “mera bilkul bhi mood nhi hai party attend karne ka” 
“You know na, Rhea will get angry” Alysha replied. 
“I know. But I'm so tired. Besides, I really want to stay home and have dinner with Maa and Baba. It's been so long since I had dinner with them” Sara said. 
Alysha sighed. “Alright then. I'll tell Rhea you are sick” 
Sara came forward and hugged her. “Thank you. You're the best” 
Alysha got up smiling and bid her goodbye. 
Sara too got up from her bed, showered, wore fresh clothes and brushed her hair before heading down for dinner.

At the dining table Sara's parents were sitting. Sara joined them giving a quick hug to her mom. 
“Sara beta, are you okay? You slept an entire day,” her mom, Dr. Anjali Tendulkar asked with concern. 
“Yeah maa, I'm fine. Just a little tired. But I am quite fresh now” Sara said. 
“That's good,” her mom replied. 
“But you know na your friend is going to be upset. You missed her birthday party” her father, the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar said. 
“I know baba. But I was so tired and in no mood to get all dressed up” Sara said with a sigh. 
“I can understand. Get Rhea a nice gift and go meet her tomorrow” her father said. 
“Yes yes. I will do that. Don't worry” Sara replied.
“So what's your plan for the upcoming week?” Her mom asked. 
“I haven't planned anything and honestly I just want to stay home for a while” Sara said. 
“Toh kisne bola tha itni badi trip plan karne?” Her father said. 
“C'mon baba, I wanted to travel a bit. I agree now I am exhausted but it was worth it” Sara explained. 
“Yeah yeah I get it” Sachin replied. 
“I think we all can go to Lonavala for a few days. It's been a while since we visited” Sara's mom suggested. 
“Oh yes! Abhi climate bhi bahot acha hai and I can meet Max and Spike before going back to London” Sara said, enthusiastically. 
“Done then. Let's leave tomorrow itself. I will call and ask the house to get cleaned” Anjali said, picking up her phone. 
She called someone and gave the instructions while Sachin and Sara talked about her upcoming University semester. 

Just then Sara's brother, Arjun arrived. Sitting down he said, “Guess what peeps?” 
“Urm no hello, no greetings?” Sara asked.
“Hey there sleepy head!! Arjun said, patting Sara's head. Sara scoffed at him. 
“Now what is the news?” Their father asked. 
“I got a mail from BCCI office today and I've been selected for a special training camp” Arjun said. Everyone on the dinner table listened to him with interest as he narrated the entire thing.
“That's great!!” Sachin replied after Arjun was done talking. 
“It really is. Congratulations beta” Anjali said, smiling. 
“Badhi ho” Sara said, patting Arjun on his back. 
"Thank you thank you" Arjun said.
Sara told Arjun about their Lonavala plan. 
The chatter around the dining table went on for a while. Sara shared stories from her trip while everyone listened to her. Every now and then, Arjun would joke about something earning a hard stare or punch from Sara. 
After the dinner, they all decided to watch a movie. 

After the movie was done, Sara came back to her room, feeling happy and content. She had missed her family all these days and spending just a few hours with them seemed to give her fresh energy. 
She logged in her laptop and started reading some of her University Blogs. Her next term was to begin in about 10 days. Until then, she decided to spend all of her time with her family.

General trivia : Max and Spike are their pet dogs and stay in their Lonavala home.
