London

It's funny how you meet someone just once in your life yet you end up thinking about them more than you should. One such person for me is Shubman Gill.

I had met him almost two months ago and yet I have thought about him every other day.

Even now, as I sit here in the library, supposedly doing my assignment, I found myself Google -ing ‘Shubman Gill news.’

Ever since I came back to London, I had stalked him on every possible social media. His Instagram is filled with random selfies. A proper Punjabi boy he is! But that's not it. He was awarded the ‘Junior cricketer of the year’ twice. That made me Google his name to see if I can find any news related to his cricket. Gotta say, I was a bit surprised to know that he's been playing cricket on the State level for a long time and just last year, he also went on a tour to England and represented India at the ‘Young Asia Cup.’ His stats have been pretty impressive ever since he started playing. But the most interesting and promising news was the fact that he was being considered for the upcoming U19 World Cup.

So a cricketer who plays well and is good looking!

This thought of mine surprised the hell out of me.

All these days, I kept replaying our conversation at the party. The way he looked at me when he said ‘not for me’. He went off after saying this while I just stood there, not being able to process his words.

I have met so many of Arjun's friends but no one ever said such a thing to me. It's not that I did not like it or anything but..I don't know. It felt oddly good.

With a sigh, I closed my laptop knowing that I am not getting any work done. I packed my things and decided to head home. My friends are coming over to my place for the weekend and I want to get some snacks and drinks. I hope this weekend plan diverts my thoughts and I get over it as soon as possible because if I don't, I know I will be f**ked up.
