Some time has passed since that day. It's been over one year, now. Spring hasn't left his home at all. Autumn and Winter tried several times to make him come back out, but none of it ever worked.
Autumn: "..We have to keep trying."
Winter: "*Sigh* It isn't going to work.. Autumn."
Winter: "He isn't gonna' come back out. We tried everything at this point."
Despite Winter's words... Autumn refused to give up. Surely Spring would come back out soon. Perhaps it will take some time, right? Winter began to walk away as Autumn followed him. For a bit, the walk was silent... Until Winter spoke again.
Winter: "..I don't know how much more I can take, Autumn. Ever since that day, I just can't look at this place we all live in the same way anymore. Everything is just.. slowly falling apart."
Autumn: "I'm still here, don't you ever forget that. We still have each other.."
He didn't say anything back to her. Autumn was unaware that Winter was starting to hate everything, because everything reminded him of what they lost. Just being next to Autumn is extremely irritating for him most of the time. Every moment is painful to him.
Autumn: "I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe it'll work this time!"
Winter: "..."
As they both walked through the forest, Winter noticed... 'something' floating in the distance. It stared at Winter as his eyes widened. He grabbed Autumn's hand and ran with her. She gave a confused look at him, but it did not matter.
Autumn: "What are y-"
Winter: "We need to keep moving.."
Unknowingly, it was only Winter and Spring who could see it. His heart raced as they approached the end of the forest. They were now walking through a small town. Once they reached the town-square, they both stopped as Winter turned around and spoke.
Winter: "Why are you still so confident?!"
Autumn: "I... I just don't want everything to fall apart."
Winter: "..It's already happening, Autumn. Summer is gone, and Spring won't leave his damn home.. Just a few days ago, we were all planning to visit and spend a few days at my cabin.."
Autumn: "You and I could still-"
Winter: "There's no point."
'Something' stared at Winter from a distance. His eyes widened, before asking Autumn...
Winter: "Do you see it too?"
Autumn: "???"
Winter pointed over to the east side. Nothing was there...
Autumn: "I'm not seeing anything."
This confirmed his suspicions about him being haunted or stalked. Autumn continued to glance at Winter, and asked if he is alright.
Winter: "Look... I... I should just probably head home."
Autumn: "..Don't just leave me here, please."
Winter: "..."
She waited for his response. Autumn never liked being completely alone. Ever since she was young, isolation was her biggest fear. Winter would always make sure to stay by her side when no one else will. However, it was still difficult to be around her after everything that happened. Yet, he didn't want to lose what could be the last person he could actually interact with.
Winter: "*Sigh* Alright.. fine. You can come stay at my place for now."
Autumn: "Thank you, Winter..."
Both of them proceeded to leave town and approach Winter's home. It was quiet in the house. Not even ambience filled it. Some lights were turned on as both of them sat on separate couches.
Winter: "..."
Autumn: "..."
Winter: "Would... you like me to, uh, prepare you tea or something?"
Autumn: "Thank you, but I'm good."
Winter nodded and continued to sit in silence. Autumn stared at the ground, and also remained silent. This silence remained for a solid ten minutes, before Autumn broke it.
Autumn: "..What could've caused Summer to do this?"
Winter: "..."
Winter: "I don't know. I knew that she was a bit more distant with us, and mostly did stuff with Spring... Yet, she always seemed so happy."
Autumn: "..I just can't stop thinking about it. If anything, I feel horrible for Spring. We're both clearly upset, but I never considered about locking myself away. I'm surprised that you weren't like that either."
Winter: "As much as this hurts... I'll remain by your side."
Autumn looked up and slightly smiled at him. Even if everything is falling apart, at least they still have each other. Perhaps in time, they'll both fully recover and move on. There's always room for more memories.
Autumn: "Thank you... Winter..."
