My writing in the beginning is a bit boring and rough because this is my first time writing a book, so please don't stop reading. I promise to do better so all of you guys can enjoy

I run as fast as I can down the runway, jumping on the springy mat and twisting my body in the air, hands touching the vault as I perform a back hand flip and do a twist at the same time. I land on my feet, panting, as I complete the move perfectly. I groan as my couch Marty screams, "Again Jessica! Let's go!"

We had all been practicing for 3 hours now and coach was working me so hard I felt like I was going to collapse. I guess being a champion had some negative effects I think, walking over to the chalk station and submerging my hands into it. My friends Clara, Jamie, and Sophia all walk towards me and groan as they stretch out their backs.

"Man, I can't wait to go home and sleep," Jamie says as she sits on the mat.

"I have school tomorrow guys and I don't even know how I will be able to walk after tonight," I say to them watching out for Coach Marty.

These days were crucial and if he saw us socializing then we would be forced to stay longer. I had known these girls for quite some time now but we were never that close. I mean we did meet outside of the gym but it was never that often. The gym was always about competition not necessarily against one another but there just was not any time to socialize.

We all disperse away from the chalk station as coach comes towards us and I head over to the mats to start my dance routine. It is basically a dance with multiple flips, all which have to be landed within a certain border. For the upcoming meets I was practicing a double Arabian so that this way I could remain in the top.

After thirty minutes coach finally ended practice and we were finally able to go home. I got into my car, said goodbye to everyone and drove home practically falling asleep on the wheel.

----------------------------

I groan as I hear my alarm clock beeping erratically, wanting nothing more than to chuck it across the room. I had stayed up practicing my double Arabian, so I was very sore and tired. Most of my gymnast friends were home schooled but I had wanted to experience a normal life and so I opted for attending a public school instead. I was glad I had though because I loved the people at my school. Well, most of them, anyway. Aside from my two best friends, Luke and Amy, I was friends with various groups of people and was a part of a lot of clubs.

When my alarm clock finally stops beeping I think, 5 more minutes...only to fall out of bed as my jackass of a brother screams, "Jessica get your ass up! Just because it is your birthday doesn't mean I wont drag your ass out of bed." Oh god, its my birthday, I think jumping out of bed.

I quickly rush out of bed and go straight towards my walk in closet, picking out a short but appropriate enough red dress. I pick this dress because I know that Luke will be staring at me all day and just thinking about him makes my heart melt. We have been dating for six years now and because our parents were old time best friends, we had spent a lot of time together even when we were young.

I quickly jump into the shower and start shampooing my hair as fast as I can. Knowing I overslept, I jump right out and start on my makeup applying foundation and eye-shadow.

I walk down the stairs to see my parents hiding behind the kitchen door. As I walk through my mother screams, "Happy birthday honey!" while my father screams, "What in the lords name are you wearing! "and appears as if he is going to pass out.

I can't help but chuckle at my fathers response and before I can give one of my own, my mother glares at my father, "Mister, don't you go around yelling at my daughter on her special day. Honey you look beautiful." She looks at my father, daring him to say otherwise, and my father sighs in defeat.
