"Alright now before the final bell goes off and you all head out those doors for the last time, I just want to say what an honor it's been to have been your grade head over the past 4 years" Miss Allison started, the realisation that these were my last few minutes in school finally hitting me. I couldn't believe that in a few months time I was actually going to be attending Harvard School of Law. My dream school. My dream job. Its all becoming a reality.

My trail of thought was soon interrupted when my best friend bumped me with her shoulder.

"wow, Grayson might actually be crying"

I look across our row to see the school's biggest jock and, unfortunately, my twin brother wiping away some tears.

"He's more upset that he's not going to be the popular boy anymore" I scoffed, turning back to listen to Miss Allison.

"Now I've finished saying my goodbyes, i hereby announce the class of 2024...GRADUATED"

Screams erupted my ears as my fellow classmates and I all jumped up in a whole ray of emotions. Some were extremely upset to be leaving high school whereas some couldn't wait to escape. Personally, i couldn't wait to run out those doors and officially goodbye to my past.

"WE'RE GRADUATED BABYYYY!" Amaya shouted in my ear as we hugged each other.

Amaya had been my best friend since we were 5. We met on our first day of kindergarten when we got into an argument as we both wanted to same ice lolly and there was only 1 left. However as soon as another little boy said he wanted it too, we both just looked at each other and split it in half before skipping off. We've been inseparable ever since. And now we've graduated from high school and we're off to Harvard together in the Fall.

"hell yeah we are" I shouted back before catching the time on the clock. "shit Mya it's 1:35 I've got to go"

"noo not already" Amaya replied, also looking at the clock before pulling a sad face. Despite us both starting Harvard at the beginning of September, my family and I are going away to Australia for the whole summer to see our extended family. I'll miss Mya immensely as we've never really been apart for more than a week and now I'm about to spend 3 months on the other side of the world but, I'm also extremely excited for the trip. It's just what I need after the past 2 years I've had.

"i know but I'll call you all the time and I'll send you pictures every single day I promise." i replied, giving her a big squeeze before saying my last goodbyes and running to get my idiotic brother.

"Gray we've got to go" i shouted over to him, before heading for the doors to wait there.

Soon enough i see him pushing through the crowd and heading straight for me.

"awh Lay we're all grown up" he cooed out before grabbing my cheeks and squishing them together. Despite only being 5 minutes apart, Grayson acted like he was the older brother, and I was just his baby sister.

I huffed before opening the big fire doors and looking for mom's car. Grayson quickly caught up with me and pulled me in for one of his 'sideward bro hugs' (as he once called it) whilst we waited for mom and dad.

"you ready to say goodbye to this shithole?"

"oh most definitely"

"i still think you should have let me burnt-"

"no Grayson" i quickly interrupted. "no more mention of this school, no more mention of that room and no more mention of him"

Grayson looked at me with some what sympathetic eyes as he muttered a "you got it sis" and giving me a quick kiss on the head.

We may have our moments, but Grayson was deep down one of my bestest friends, along with Amaiya. I'm sure it's probably a twin thing but it's like he's a part of me. I'd be lost without him.

Not long before the car pulled in front of the school and we both went to get in. I took one last look before jumping in the car and slamming the door, saying goodbye to Fever Tree High School forever.
