"Congratulations Sy!" Sigaw ng bestfriend kong si Gabby.

I'm Sy. Short for Stella Yvaine Ong. I prefer to be called Sy by my family and close friends. Masyado kasing mahirap yung name ko lalo na yung second name. It's pronounced as "Ee-v-ai-n".

"Shhh! Nasa library tayo!" I told her quietly kasi baka mapalayas kami dito. Nasa ibang library pa naman kami. Hindi namin library to.

We're at a public library because I'm doing my research about our science project. May specific book kasi ako na hinahanap. I'm already on my 4th year high school. Konti nalang gragraduate na ako. 4th grading na eh. Sumama lang si Gabby kasi curious daw siya sa itsura ng library nila.

"But thank you, Gabby. I'm proud of you." I whispered to her.

"Ano ka ba! Mas proud nga ako sa'yo eh. Class Valedictorian ka. I knew it all along. But still, I wanted to say congratulations." She told me as she sat on the chair beside me.

Class valedictorian. Two words. But lots of pressure. I don't think highly of myself. Hindi rin naman ako ganun katalino. Masipag lang talaga akong magbasa. Minsan nadadaan sa sipag eh.

Feel ko tuloy kapag nagcollege ako, I should never fail. My family is supportive. No pressure at all. Ako lang naman nagpapapressure sa sarili ko.

"Shhhhh!" Sabi nung librarian dito na matandang nakasalamin. Lahat ba ng librarian dapat ganun ang itsura?

Nakakahiya nga lang pumunta dito kasi halo-halo 'yung students. Most of them are from the NCHS. Our state school. I'm from CMU. One of the most prestigious schools in the province.

"Sorry po." Sabay sabi namin ni Gabby habang naka-peace sign sa librarian.

Inirapan lang kami.

Ay suplada.

"Hindi ka pa ba uuwi? Anong oras na ah! Hindi porket 24 hours bukas 'tong library na 'to, dito ka na matutulog." Gabby asked me while looking at her watch.

I looked at the window.

Ang dilim na.

Gabi na pala.

Hindi ko namalayan 'yung oras. Gutom narin ako. Pero hindi ko pa tapos 'tong research.

"Isang chapter nalang talaga. Mauna ka nang umuwi. Don't worry I can handle myself. Ingat ka." Sabi ko sabay balik sa binabasa ko.

I really need to finish this because I hate procrastination.

"Oh siya sige mauuna na ako. Inaantok na talaga ako maaga pa pasok natin bukas. Ingat ka rin."

As the library door closes sa pag-alis ni Gabby. Napalingon din ako sa paligid ko.

Hala ako nalang pala 'yung tao.

Binilisan ko nalang magbasa. After 30 minutes I'm done with my research. Binalik ko na sa counter 'yung libro na hiniram ko because it was so damn heavy. Ang liit liit ko na nga eh. Kaya siguro hindi ako lumalaki.

Lumabas na ako ng library and waited for the elevator. Ang bagal pa ng elevator nila. Jusko hindi ko alam kung panahon pa ni Rizal 'tong elevator na 'to.
