Chapter 24

The sun was slowly coming up when we arrived at Ally's parent's beach house. We were able to leave the kind man's truck without any problems. Ally thanked the man and even offered him gas money, but the man politely declined and told us to be safe before driving away.

"I thought for sure he was going to ask for some sort of sexual favor in return. If he did then I was going to volunteer Ally to do it" Dinah said.

Normani erupted in laughter and Ally gave Normani a stern look which made her stop laughing.

"It was only a joke" Normani muttered.

"You have to believe that there are actually kind people in the world" Ally said.

"Those type of people don't exist in America" Dinah said.

"Dinah has a point. Everyone in America has the mindset of it doesn't benefit them then they don't want any part of it" Taylor said.

"I like to look for the good in people" Ally said.

"Do you think there's any good in my mom?" Camila asked from beside me.

"Hell no, that woman is Satan's spawn" Normani said and then was elbowed in the side by Ally.

"I think there's a bit of good in your mom, she just has a strange way of showing it" Ally said.

"No, your mom is filled with hate" Dinah said.

"You aren't helping" Ally said.

"You shouldn't lie to her because you're trying to spare her feelings. She needs to know the truth" Dinah said.

"Stop it," I said.

"Lauren's right it's too early in the morning for Dinah's truth tea" Taylor said.

"I think we are all a bit tired, so let's just go inside" Ally said.

We started walking up to the walkway and then Normani stopped us.

Dinah groaned. "What is it now?" Dinah asked.

"Ally, didn't you tell me that your parents rarely use this beach house?" Normani asked.

"Yes, but—

Normani shushed Ally and peered through the window where a light was on. Normani had her hand on the glass when someone on the other side popped up and scared Normani.

"What the fuck" Normani yelled in fear.

Dinah and Ally erupted in laughter and Camila let out a yawn.

"It is only Elise" I said walking to the front door and guiding Camila with me. I turned the doorknob and opened the door.

"It took you losers long enough" Elise said as Camila and I entered the house and everyone else followed.

"How did you get here before us?" Ally asked closing the door behind her and locking it.

"Natasha stole a car and got us here in record time" Elise said.

"Oh my god," Ally said.

"No, it was a parked car. She hot-wired it" Elise said.

"Lauren you never mentioned that Natasha was a criminal" Normani said.

I shrugged. "I did not know. Camila is tired and so am I" I said.

"Oh right so there's a bedroom down here" Ally said leading the way as Camila and I followed her.

Ally walked us into the bedroom and was about to show Camila the bedroom she was sleeping in, but her grip on my arm tightened.

"Is it okay if she stays with me?" I asked.
