Chapter 5

It wasn't long holding my hand, but it made me sad. Yes, I know I'm too emotional, but I truly felt comfortable when she held my hand. However, as the movie became scarier and more surprising, I noticed that Jhoanna's head was on Yso's shoulder. Many people were scoring points with Jho, and I started to feel down again, but then Sheena hit me out of fear, making things worse.

I noticed that Ate Maloi and Ate Colet weren't making much noise since we arranged ourselves in pairs of blooms. I observed an awkwardness between the two of them. It seemed like Ate Colet wanted to sit next to Jho since she had been watching her for a while. Ate Maloi noticed it too, which sparked the awkwardness between them.

"Shee, switch seat with Ate Maloi," I whispered to Sheena.

"Huh? Why?" she asked.

"I noticed that things are awkward between them," I explained.

"Ah, okay," she replied.

"Ate Maloi, Staku said we should switch seats," Sheena said, dragging my name into it.

"Why?" Ate Maloi asked.

"Staku has something to tell you," Sheena made up a reason.

Sheena really had no chill, dragging me into things like that. They changed seats. Of course, I had to come up with a story to entertain Ate Maloi.

"Ate Loi, earlier when Sheena was eating HAHAHA," I began, trying to lighten the mood.

"Hey, Staku, try continuing that, I'll really slap you," Sheena threatened.

Then Jhoanna burped loudly, causing all of us to burst into laughter.

"Jhoanna!!! Seriously, right in front of me!!" I joked.

"Excuse me, weren't you facing the other way? Besides, my burp was probably funnier than what you were about to say," she replied with a mischievous look.

Our movie marathon finally ended, and I was deafened by their screams. Ysobel was surprisingly loud.

Ate Aiah suggested that we should go to the mall for some shopping, and we all agreed. We rode in our van, with Jhoanna driving us to the mall. We kept ourselves entertained inside the van to ward off boredom.

Minutes later, we arrived at the mall.

"Let's go shopping for clothes," Ate Maloi invited.

"I need to use the restroom," Ysobel said.

"I'll come with you," Jhoanna replied.

"Staku needs to go there too," Sheena said, and I was puzzled. Sheena then winked at me and mouthed, "I got you." I understood her message.

Jho, Yso, and I headed to the bathroom on the 3rd floor. I stayed behind Jho and Yso as their bond seemed stronger than ours, so I let them be. However, Jho checked on me and held my hand.

"Staku, are you in one of your lonely moments again?" Jho teased me.

"No, I was just texting my mom. She said she couldn't come home, and I don't have the key to our condo," I replied.

"You're so hesitant. You can stay at our condo," Jho suggested.

"Don't bother. I'll stay with Sheena since she'll be alone at the condo because her amma went home to Isabella," I explained.

"Just admit it, you don't want to be with me," Jho teased, to which I jokingly agreed, "Yes, yeah, right, fact, accurate," we both chuckled.

Sheena's POV

Staku seemed to be enjoying herself, taking her time.

"Bebe, try on these black trousers with this fitted cardigan top. It will definitely suit you," Bebe suggested.
