Then she winked at me, leaving the other girls in confuse, especially Jhoanna. But I knew what it meant. I like Yso as a friend; she's kind, funny, and sweet. Sheena and her have a similar sense of humor. It's just a shame that they didn't bond much since Sheena was busy with Gwen.

When we returned to Mikha's condo, I noticed that Ate Colet was planning something. I was curious about it, but then...

"Jhoanna, can I court you?" Ate Colet asked.

We were all taken aback by her boldness. I saw hurt in Ate Maloi's eyes, so I went to her, holding her hand. I knew she wanted to cry but forced herself to smile.

I waited for Jhoanna's answer, whether she would say yes or no.

"It's quite early, Ate Colet, but I have made my decision," Jhoanna began.

We all stood there, waiting to see what would happen next.

"Since you have shown me how respectful you are, my answer is yes!" Jhoanna shouted.

Ate Colet jumped in happiness, while Ate Maloi squeezed my hand upon hearing the response. Sheena looked at me with worry in her eyes, but I mouthed to her, "I'm okay." Deep down, though, I wasn't okay. This wasn't the right time to cry.

It started raining heavily, accompanied by thunder and lightning. Mikha suggested that we stay for a few hours and wait for the rain to ease, but it was getting late and the rain showed no signs of stopping.

My phone rang. It was my mom calling.

"Aubrey, where are you?"

"Mommy, I might not be able to come home yet."

"Oh, girls, why don't you stay overnight at my condo since it's too risky to go home in this bad weather?" Mikha suggested.

"Mommy, I'll just stay overnight here," I informed my mom, who agreed.

"I can't, Mikha," Ate Maloi said. "I need to go home to my condo. I might have forgotten to unplug something there." I knew she was making excuses.

"I'll go with her," I said.

"Okay, take care," Mikha reminded us.

We got into Ate Maloi's car.

"You shouldn't have come," Ate Maloi said.

"Ate Maloi, I know you're just making excuses, and I know where you're really going-it's not to the condo," I replied.

"Okay, fine, you caught me."

We arrived at the nearest bar, where Ate Maloi ordered six bottles of wine for the two of us.

"Staku, why is this happening? I loved her, but is this how she repays me? Wasn't our relationship enough that she needed to look for someone else?" Ate Maloi poured her heart out.

"Staku, am I that hard to love? It hurts so much because I was the first but not the last. It's so unfair because I loved her, I gave her everything, I showed her how important she was to me, but why does it feel like I mean nothing to her?" Ate Maloi said through tears streaming down her face.

"We're in the same boat, Ate Maloi," I said, hugging her.

We got drunk, and my head started spinning, feeling dizzy from the drinks. It was getting late, so we decided to head to her condo.

The rain continued to pour, growing heavier, accompanied by intense lightning. Ate Maloi, unable to focus on driving due to being drunk, struggled with the steering wheel swerving. Thankfully, we were the only ones on the road, with no other vehicles in sight. However, as we encountered a large truck, Ate Maloi couldn't control the car...
