That stupid whore, slut, two-faced, good for nothing bitch!!! I screamed in my head as I stormed out of school. I was too mad to go through the rest of the school day. And hell, skipping classes wouldn’t be the worst thing I had done with week. Besides, if I stayed in school I would probably just end up beating Zoe’s ass and then getting kicked out of school for good. I was already on the freaking Dean’s watch list. I’m sure Mrs. Raven would understand this unscheduled leave of absence for the day.

I have always known that Zoe wasn’t really my ‘friend’ in a sense. Celeste, Zoe, and I were attached at the hip but that didn’t mean there weren’t any rifts between us. Mostly between Zoe and I. She always seemed like she had ulterior motives around me so I was careful around her but that doesn’t mean her betrayal stung any less. Just because she could be a total bitch didn’t mean I thought she would go behind my back and try and go for the guy I’ve had a crush on for years while telling me I needed to go after him. That was just insane and manipulative.

When I finally reached my crappy Pontiac I got in and slammed the door shut so hard, I thought I might have shattered my window. I gripped the stirring wheel as hard as I could and just boiled in my anger. I needed to go to the gym and beat the hell out of something. I threw my car into first gear and headed to my brother’s boxing gym. I don’t care if it was busy or not, he was going to let me punch his face in or I was bringing the annoying little sister card out for his entire gym to see. The thought of embarrassing and annoying my brother in front of his entire gym brought a smile to my face despite my boiling blood.

“Leo!” I called when I walked in the front door of his gym.

“Uh-oh, looks like Haze didn’t have a good day at school. Or well, half day.” Rocco said as he looked up at the clock to check the time. I sneered at him. Rocco was like the annoying second older brother I didn’t want.

“Go to hell.” I mumbled under my breath as I breezed past him to the back office. Before I could walk into Leo’s office he walked out and when he saw me he gave me a disapproving look. “What? Like you never cut class?” I asked him.

“What did you do now?” He groaned as he swiped his hand over his face. My brother was tall, well compared to me everyone was tall. He was muscled and mean looking, with tattoos running up and down both arms. His nose was crooked to the side from being broken so many times and his face was full of scars and had a healing bruise on his jaw. My brother was scary if you didn’t know him. But really he was just a pain in the ass.

“Why do you always think I did something?” I asked faking innocent.

“Because, you are my little sister, and I remember what I did in high school so I can only imagine what you do.” I rolled my eyes.

“I left before I did anything you would have done, relax. I’m not on the run or wanted or anything. I came here because I need something to beat the hell out of.”

Leo raised his eye brow at me and looked over at Rocco, who just shrugged. “Do I even want to ask?”

“Zoe went behind my back and tried going after the guy I like. Totally MTV drama crap.”

“I never liked Zoe. She was always hitting on my workers. If they weren’t so scared of me they would have went for her.” Leo said giving Rocco a pointed look.

“Hey, I waited until she was 18. She’s hot as hell, mean, but hot.” I rolled my eyes at the meat head.

“So can I beat up your idiot friend so I don’t expelled from school again?” I asked as I jumped down from the counter I had perched myself on top.

Leo blew out a breath. “Yeah, go change.” I nodded and headed off to the locker rooms. “We don’t have any classes this early in the day because everyone is at work or at SCHOOL!” Leo shouted at my back as I walked into the locker rooms. I just rolled my eyes.

“Hey babe.” Lucy said as she walked up to Roman’s Chevy. Roman and I were sitting on the tailgate waiting for her to get down with some club thing. “Hey, Kayden.” She greeted me after she kissed Roman. I nodded my head at her and quickly looked the other direction. Lucy just shook her head lightly and smiled.

Lucy was good for Roman. They had been together for almost a year. Lucy was soft and sweet but she wasn’t a push over. She mellowed Roman, the partier and hyper active guy that he was, down. She had the kind of personality that you instantly trusted. I was happy Roman had finally found a nice girl to be with.

“So are you ready for tonight, sweet thing?” Roman asked with a sly grin. Lucy gave him a confused look.

            “What is going on tonight?”

“Oh, I got Kayden a date. We’re gonna double, you in?” Roman asked as he pulled Lucy between his knees. She rested her head on his chest and tapped me on the shoulder.

“Who do you have a date with?” That was the thing I liked and hated about Lucy. All the girls before Lucy that Roman dated had either completely ignored me because I was so shy or they would just ask Roman the question they wanted to ask me, and sometimes they would hit on me when Roman wasn’t around because they knew I wouldn’t say anything. Lucy, whoever, always tried to include me in the conversation and would talk directly to me.

“Hazel.” Lucy’s eyes widened and she quickly looked at Roman for conformation.

            “For real?”

Roman nodded. “Yep. She told him they were going out tonight and he kind of had no other choice but to say yes.” Roman had the biggest smile on his face. I hoped his face would crack.

“What did you do?” Lucy excused Roman.

“Nothing! I swear!” Roman held his hands up. “I’m the one that got hit in the head for it.” Roman rubbed the back of his head again. I rolled my eyes and hoped it hurt for a while. Lucy was glaring at Roman, obviously not believing his story but not going to pry any farther.

“So when is this date?” Lucy asked as she pulled out her phone when it beeped. I gave Roman a panicked look. Oh my god… Hazel hadn’t said a time or a place and I was in too much of a shock to even have thought of it until now. Lucy looked up when no one answered her question to see the matching looks of stupid on Roman and Kayden’s faces. She rolled her eyes.

“No one set a time or place?” She asked with a little bit of disbelief in her tone.

“There were some other things going on that I will explain to you later, babe. Because I’m sure Zoe is already on the rumor mill spreading how many woman I’m cheating on you with.” Lucy nodded her head in understanding. Zoe was a girl that just needed to be put in her place.

“Come on dweedle dee and dweedle dumb, Hazel usually hangs out at her brother’s gym after school. I’m sure we can find her there or someone there can track her down for us.” Lucy climbed into the front seat as Roman and I jumped off the tailgate.

“Hazel hangs out at a gym?” I asked a little shocked.

“Yeah, her brother is an MMA fighter. Or something like that. How did you think she got so good at beating people up that were five times bigger than her?” Roman gave me a duh look.

I breathed out a long breath. MMA fighter for a brother and a girl that could kick my ass at any moment…yeah, that doesn’t make me any more nervous than I already am…
