OKAY,❞ Chris starts, hands on his hips, all happy like everyone wasn't scared to death up here, "Today's challenge is three-fold."

"Your first task is to jump off this 1,000 foot high cliff into the lake."

"Piece of cake!" Bridgette confidently smiles, glancing at Chris when he speaks up again.

"If you look down, you will see two target areas," Everyone looks down, as well as the cameraman, who pans to show the lake, "the wider area represents the part of the lake that we have stocked with psychotic, man-eating sharks!"

Chris lets out an evil laugh, everyone staring at him and the lake judgmentally. Everyone glances at each other skeptically. Y/N, who was wearing her favorite swimsuit, looks up at Finn. She leans up, whispering into his ear, "I-I can't swim."

A few people hear, some of the few snickering. Finn glares at them. "Maybe today's the day you learn how to," The boy grumbles, negativity radiating from his slouched form. Y/N frowns.

Chris continues explaining the challenge, our main girl zoning him out. Why'd she sign up for this show again? Y/N was expecting a 5 star resort with air conditioning, free WiFi, and private rooms— not being woken up at 9 in the morning to jump off a cliff.

She snaps out of it when Chris announces the Killer Bass up first. Bridgette, staring down at the water with fearful eyes, speaks up first, "Oh, wow.." The blonde looks back at the team, forcing a smile, "So, who wants to go first?"

crickets... literal crickets.

Owen says something to his team to try and cheer them up, so Y/N decides to try and cheer her's up. "I-It's not all bad!" She stutters, smiling at them, "Imagine it's a rollercoaster. Like, the one that puts you in a cage and flings you, like, 50,000 feet up into the air!"

Nobody reacted. Not even one singular person humored her. "So, who's up?" Eva asks, glaring at everybody. Duncan smirks, sending an uncomfortable shiver down Y/N's spine. This guy was creepy...

The same mohawk-wearing weirdo purrs in a slow voice, "Ladies first." God, he was so, so uncomfortable to look at! Bridgette decides to take one for the team, trying to hype herself up.

When she lands, Y/N and Tyler (and only those two) cheer. "Yeah, yeah, I'm next!" The brunette yells, running and throwing himself off the ledge. Everyone winces when he hits a buoy.

Geoff, Eva, and Duncan go after. DJ chickens out, Ezekiel hits a rock and sends himself flying, and Harold lands on his balls. Nothing too interesting.

Y/N glances at Courtney, who was the only other person still on the cliff. She takes a deep breath. "Hey! Courtney, right?" Y/N asks, trying to start conversation.

The tanned girl raises her eyebrow, arms crossed as she nods, "Yes. You're Y/N, if I remember correctly?" Y/N nods, "Yup!"

They stare at each other for a bit. Y/N picks at some lint on her swimsuit, uncomfortable under Courtney's stares. "So," She starts, twiddling with her fingers, "Are you gonna jump?"

"Pff, heck no." Courtney almost laughs, making Y/N let out a breath of relief. Making friends was hard, but at least she was getting humored. "I'm not crazy." Courtney continues, smirking proudly, "I care about 100,000 dollars, but I care more about my life."

Y/N chuckles a little, but then she realizes that if Courtney isn't gonna jump, then it's up to her to either win it or lose it for the team. She glances down the cliff, then back at Courtney, and takes a breath.
