~ISSA
My blood went cold as the fog scattered across the floor of the room.
He stepped into the space and the light from the dancing candles illuminated his face. I had to admit that he was the fairest man I had ever set my eyes on.
He had unusual crimson eyes that made him somewhat intriguing before my wolf. He possessed hair as dark as the night and there was this mysterious aura that he evoked upon all who gazed at him.
He was dressed in dark clothes that complimented his dark and imposing aura. If it had not been for the evident danger and red flag flashing all over his face, then I would have told myself that I had found myself a great catch of a man.
He had to be every girl's dream. I felt my wolf stir with desire as I felt a dangerous fire come alive within me.
What if it was all a prank and he was no bride killer? What if it was all a misunderstanding? What if it was not as bad as they were making it seem?
"My Lord!" The Alpha yelled and immediately threw himself at the Lycan's feet.
I was still on my feet, watching closely when I saw everyone follow the Alpha's lead. I hesitated for a bit before Yulia pulled me down to the floor instantly.
"Arise," he muttered as softly as ever and it sent chills down my spine.
I instantly killed every idea I had of it all being a lie or a prank. There was no way that this man could turn out to be an angel. He was a monster and he was soon going to take me away to end my life like the rest.
I heard everyone begin to rise but I felt my bones refuse to copy them. I suddenly felt too weak to face him and I wanted to just be killed right now or allowed to survive.
Yulia helped me again and I rose to my feet to face the King.
"Lycan King Silver. . .it is an honor to have you grace my house with your presence. I will forever remain loyal to you," The Alpha announced.
I could read the lies in his voice.
The Lycan King in return did not seem to pay attention to what he had to say.
His eyes were more on his left fist which was balled slightly. It was almost as if he was already bored by the Alpha's speech.
"Is there anything that I may offer you? After all, you're at my house. I can't just let you come in here without getting anything to drink or eat," The Alpha went on.
That was when Lycan Silver stopped glaring at his fist and shot a cold gaze at the Alpha.
"Are you trying to stall? Or are you trying to mislead me?" He demanded in that quiet yet powerful voice.
It was as if speaking firmly was too much work for him or was perhaps too low for him. I could see his pride and huge ego written all over his face.
The Alpha swallowed hard. "Forgive me, my Lord for overstepping," he muttered in a small voice.
Lycan Silver's red eyes remained leveled on him. "Don't waste my time, Alpha. Give me my bride so that I can leave," he stated.
The threat was evident in his voice. It weighed down in the air and I knew that no one could dare oppose him.
The Lycan had been arrogant enough to walk into the space without a single guard. I had heard stories of what a Lycan could do. In conclusion, they were monsters and summoning fogs was only a drop in the ocean of what they could do if provoked.
Yulia's father swallowed hard for the second time before pointing in my direction.
"Meet my daughter, Wolf Princess Yulia of Greenwood Pack."
My heart sank as I watched the Lycan turn his head in my direction. Something I did not recognize glinted in his eyes for a split second and my wolf reacted by doing a sudden flip.
That was when the glint disappeared and a sickening smile spread across his face. It was the kind of smile that an insane predator would pull once it set eyes on its prey.
It made my blood go colder than it had already become and I felt the fire that came alive within me earlier die out instantly.
The dancing light of the candle on his face only contributed to making him even scarier than he already was.
"What a beautiful bride. . ." He whispered slowly as if he was fascinated by my mere existence. "So beautiful that I cannot wait to sink my claws into her heart and rip it apart. . ."
My eyes went wide with shock at that moment as his words sunk in. His claws came out instantly and he began to walk slowly toward me.
As if my legs had a mind of their own, I began to stagger back while shaking my head at him in horror to the extent that my veil fell off.
"I don't think I want to wait until I take you home before I kill you." He went on. "My beast hungers for your blood. . ."
My entire body started trembling and I looked around for help but the guards looked away. I turned to Yulia and saw that she was crying silently while her father held on to her to stop her from doing anything stupid.
I was completely on my own and I was going to die here.
His eyes began to glow a fierce crimson color and it was when my back hit the wall that I realised I was done for.
"Never stop fighting to survive. . ." My mother's voice suddenly echoed in my head.
I shut my eyes at that moment as an idea popped into my head.
"I have a tale!" I suddenly screamed.
He stopped abruptly like someone had pulled the brakes on him and frowned. So I took it as my go ahead to keep talking.
"I have a tale. . . As old as time. . ." My voice began to tremble as tears kept forming in my eyes. My wolf came to a sudden stop and I based all my survival on what I had to say.
Lycan Silver resumed his advances on me but this time, his amused expression was replaced with curiosity.
"Born from the snow. . .beyond the Moon," I continued as he began to tower above me.
I started taking shaky intakes of breath as my tremors only intensified and I began to sweat all over.
"A tale of pain. A tale of love. A tale of death. . ." I paused as he reached me. "Betrayal and fear. . ."
The crimson glow in his eyes died down and he brought his face down to my neck as if he wanted to memorise my scent.
"It's not meant to be told. . ." I went on in a shaky whisper.
He lifted his face to mine, such that he was only inches away from my lips. I was sure that my hot and terrified breath was now fanning his face.
"It's not m— meant to be heard. It's only m— meant to be forgotten. . ." I started stuttering as I felt as if this was it.
This was how he was going to kill me and silence me forever.
"I— I have a tale. . ." I concluded as tears began to flow freely down my cheeks.
So I shut my eyes and waited for death to come.
"Interesting. . ." He whispered.
I opened my eyes immediately and saw that he was now standing at his full height. That curiosity from earlier was back in his eyes and it burned as he gazed upon me.
"Bring her to my carriage, she will tell me about this tale tomorrow," he concluded and turned away instantly before walking out of the space.
My legs gave way instantly and I sank to the floor while releasing the breath that I had been holding. Yulia ran to me and grabbed my wrist.
"You just did the impossible. . ." She began breathlessly.
"You survived the first night."
