"Save the begging for when the show begins."

I swallowed hard as he grabbed my wrist and began to drag me away. All I could do was look up at him in shock as he took me to my doom.

I had no idea what to expect. My lips were trembling and my blood had already gone cold. It took a lot from me not to scream or start panicking.

He dragged me down the dark corridor until we reached a pair of stairs which led down to thicker darkness. I was forced to use my wolf's night vision just to make out my surroundings.

Silver never looked back at me even once, but his grip on my wrist was strong as he kept dragging me with him.

We finally reached the bottom of the stairs, completely swallowed by the darkness. Yet the Beast knew exactly where to go. I could still feel his excitement, his lust sipping into the air as he moved.

He finally pushed a large iron door open and like before, the darkness was continuous. Yet my wolf was no longer as restless as before. Perhaps because she knew that the danger was no longer directed at us but at whoever his poor victim would be.

He finally released my hand and I froze. I could run but I knew it would be a big mistake. The Beast would catch me within seconds.

He walked deeper into the darkness and I smelt burning oil. It was in that instant that a burning torch came alive. He took it and began to light more.

Light instantly sprang into the room and that was when I was able to take a good look at the room.

It was large and seemed ancient. Almost as if it had been here for centuries. I would have continued exploring the space had it not been for the helpless soul in the center.

There was a man tied to a chair, messed up with blood from whatever monstrosity Silver must have put him through before. His once white singlet was now painted like the color of death— red.

He slowly lifted his face to us and I could see the fear, the dread and the pain in his eyes.

Silver chuckled. "Little Bird, this here is Nathaniel."

He pointed at him while staring at me. I swallowed hard as I fought to stand still.

"Nathaniel, this is my new bride and she's going to decide your fate."

I furrowed my brows at him just as Nathaniel turned his to me.

"Well, not the end result of your fate per se but. . . Little Bird will decide which spot to torture you today."

My wolf shifted uncomfortably and I knew that this was about to get a lot worse.

I moved my eyes back to the man and saw that he was staring at me with pleading eyes. Almost begging me to do anything I could to end his mystery.

"Wh— what is his crime?" I dared to ask, surprising even myself.

Silver corked his brows at me for a split second as if contemplating whether to answer the question or not. In the end, he came to a conclusion.

"He committed treason against his King. Normally, I should have killed him a long time ago but what's the fun in that? I already executed his family publicly and that was no fun."

The man instantly let out a pained growl before breaking down into quiet sobs.

My heart broke for him. I could not say if his crime was justified but I did not think that his family had to pay for his crimes.

This just helped me understand how much of a monster this man actually was.

"Now," he paused and turned to me. "What part of his body do you think I should hurt?"
