Life with Arabella was everything Erich had never known he needed. However, their blissful bubble was about to be tested. One afternoon, as Arabella was preparing for her class, a colleague approached her with a concerned look.
" Arabella, can we talk for a minute?" the colleague asked.
"Sure, what's up?" Arabella replied, curious.
The colleague glanced around nervously. "It's about Erich Blunt. Do you know about his past?"
Arabella's heart sank. "Yes, I do. Why?"
"I just... I think you should be careful," the colleague warned. "People don't change overnight."
Arabella felt a surge of defensiveness. "I trust Erich. He's not the person the media makes him out to be."
"I hope you're right," the colleague said, looking unconvinced.
Arabella couldn't shake the unease that settled over her. She trusted Erich, but the reminder of his past was unsettling. That evening, she met Erich for dinner, her mind racing with thoughts.
"Is everything okay?" Erich asked, noticing her distraction.
Arabella took a deep breath. "Someone at work brought up your past. They warned me to be careful."
Erich's expression darkened. "I understand. My past is always going to be a shadow over us."
"I don't care about your past," Arabella said firmly. "I care about you. But it does worry me sometimes."
Erich reached across the table, taking her hand. "I promise you, Arabella, I'm not that person anymore. I'm trying to move forward, to be better."
"I believe you," Arabella said softly. "I just needed to hear it."
Erich squeezed her hand, grateful for her trust. "We'll get through this together."
