Despite their happiness, Erich’s past continued to cast a shadow over their lives. One day, as they were walking through the park, a reporter approached them, shoving a microphone in Erich’s face.
"Mr. Blunt, can you comment on the recent developments in the Cindy Strauss case?" the reporter asked, her tone aggressive.
Erich’s jaw tightened, and Arabella stepped in front of him. "No comment. Please respect our privacy."
The reporter persisted, but Erich and Arabella walked away, trying to ignore the prying eyes of passersby.
"I’m so sorry, Erich," Arabella said, her voice filled with concern.
"It’s not your fault," Erich replied, his anger simmering. "I hate that my past keeps coming back to haunt us."
"We’ll get through this," Arabella said, squeezing his hand. "Together."
Erich nodded, feeling a surge of determination. He knew they could face anything as long as they were together.
