Chp1: "Summer in Morioh 1999."

I gently laid my head against the hard wooden desk.
When would this class finally end?
I thought to myself, slowly dozing off to sleep.

"ICHIRO YOKOTA!!! NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO DOZE OFF! THIS IS A CLASS!"

I sprung my head up to face my teacher.. my classmates seemed like they were gonna laugh their asses off.

"Well... I have a last thirty minute special surprise.. you'll all have a new classmate!!"

My class erupted into clapping and cheerful smiles, I just sat there looking around confused.
The door to our classroom suddenly opened.. And a young girl walked into the classroom and would introduce herself.

Her eyes were dark brown like her short bobbed hair, but the tinges of it were light brownish.
Her school uniform seemed to be white with her tie being light purple, with a white smiley flower clipped onto her hair. Her white skirt seemed to be medium-sized that would drop down to her ankles. With the edges of the skirt being light purple like her tie.

She'd smile at everyone kindly yet cheerfully and would walk up to where our teacher was and would open her mouth to speak.

"Hello.. my name is Akiko Tanako.. pleased.. pleased to meet you guys!"
The tone of Akiko's voice seemed to be quiet yet sweet like honey.

Everyone seemed happy to know about her.

"Thank you.. now, please sit down on the assigned seat that we talked about!"

Akiko made her way towards an empty desk with a wooden chair next to me.
She sat down with her bag that was decorated with two pink and black cat charms dangling onto the side of the bag.

Our teacher would quickly go back into teaching their lesson.

"Listen up and copy what I'm about to say into your notebooks! It's gonna be important for an upcoming exam!!"

Everyone would grab their notebook with a pencil as they awaited for our teacher to begin talking, I would just lay my head down onto my desk with my notebook already opened.

"Marcus Junius Brutus was a Roman politician, orator.. And of course! The most famous of the assassins that ended Julius.. and blah blah blah blah.."
Suddenly, the loud ringing of the school bell signaling that our day was done rang loudly.
I raised my head up to face my teacher to see that everyone was already gone apart from Akiko putting her notebooks away.

"Ichiro Yokota.. did you sleep in class again?!"

I looked around confused and then remembered what I was doing..
I was laying my head down on the desk and fell asleep because of how comfortable it was.

I sighed heavily while squinting my eyes to view my teacher more clearly by how far away he was.

"Yes.. I'm so sorry, Mr .Evans."

"Listen..Ichiro.. I have no idea how you always are the fifth best 9th grader here in terms of grades.. yet sleep in class.. Do you perhaps cheat?"

I sat up from my desk, still squinting my eyes to see Mr. Evans more clearly.

"NO WAY! IF I WAS CHEATING, I WOULD'VE KILLED MYSELF ALREADY, SIR!!"

He just stared at me with a blank expression.

"You're really dramatic."
He closed the classroom door and would quickly walk away.

I would put my stuff in my bag as suddenly when I was about to leave, I felt someone tapping my left shoulder.

It was none other than Akiko.
I'm smiling yet seeming shy.

"Hello.. my name.. name.. is Akiko Tanako and.."

"I heard your name from your introduction. You don't need to repeat it again."

She seemingly looked surprised by my casual and direct response.

"Can.. can.. we be friends?"

"Sure, see you tomorrow then."

I quickly walked away from the classroom.
But then would speed walk back to it, grabbing my bag and then once more leaving.

She stood there stunned by how easy it was to ask me to be her friend.

I would still speed walk to the exit of my school and would slow down now that I was outside of it.
I took a deep breath, gently put my bag onto my shoulders so it wouldn't fall, and.. started running back to my house at my maximum speed.

"FINALLY!! THIS DAY WAS OVER AND I COULD REST!!"
I thought to myself while running with a big grin on my face. At that point, i was lost in my thoughts.

Suddenly, I bumped into someone, sending me down on the ground.
He just looked down on me for a while, so I squinted to see who it was.

The guy seemed to have blonde light, loosely combed back hair with a few strands out of place. He also seemed to wear a light Valentino suit and a dark brown tie.

"Are you ok, sir?"
I got up whilst saying that.

"I'm fine."
He said with a serious yet mundane tone.

"Well, have a good day, sir!"
I shaked his hand and would begin walking away happily.
The man would just walk away too before stopping and turning to face my direction, saying.

"Thank you, you too."

Though I didn't hear it. It was probably what he said to me.
