Trishul watched her tears for a while and stopped from wiping her sindhoor.
"Fine, I won't wipe it now but I should never see you wearing it anytime. If you use any marriage symbols, you will be punished. You can't leave as I married you but you are not a married woman because I won't accept you as my wife ever."
Abhigna wiped her tears and she couldn't understand his hatred for her and the symbols of marriage.
"Go and prepare the lunch for me."
Abhigna nodded and went off from there. Seeing the maid who was fired near the door, Abhigna went and gave her gold chain to her.
"I am sorry for what happened. I couldn't help you to get your job back but atleast this chain will help you until you find a new job," Abhigna said and Trishul saw her giving the chain to the maid from his room through the window.
He didn't understand how could she wish good for others even in her miserable situation. She is not thinking about her and is worried for the maid. He didn't like it because her goodness is troubling him.
He sat on his chair, switching on the laptop but remembered Abhigna. Her face with no make up but just showered looked pure, and the red sindhoor on her forehead made her look beautiful.
He hated to see her beautiful because his heart flutter seeing her beautiful.
"Abhigna," Trishul shouted and Abhigna who was cooking the food didn't understand what to do. He would scold her if she spoils the food but if she doesn't go immediately, he would punish her for that too. She just kept the stove in low and ran to his room.
"How long do you take to come when I call you?" Trishul fumed at her.
"I am in the kitchen, so..."
"Shut up. I forgot to tell you your punishment for wearing the sindhoor without my permission. After the lunch, I will tell you. And you have to come to me and remind me about that," Trishul said as he knew that was a humiliation for her. However, Abhigna nodded and left to the kitchen.
She served the food to him and he had calmly giving her a break from his anger.
"Go and have your food with the maids," Trishul said inflicting another humiliation on her. However, Abhigna didn't mind the status or anything, so she went to had her food with the maids. After the lunch, she went to Trishul.
"What? I didn't call you," Trishul said, though he remembered his earlier words.
"You told me..to.. remind you..about...punishment.." Abhigna stuttered.
"Say it clearly," Trishul said.
"You told me to remind you about the punishment."
"Whose punishment and why?" Trishul said, enjoying her situation.
"You told me to remind you about my punishment for keeping the sindhoor without your permission," Abhigna said finally satisfying him.
Trishul called a maid and asked him to bring an ice block. He asked them to place it in the backyard and Abhigna looked at him confused.
"Kneel down on it until the ice melts," Trishul said and Abhigna was shivered hearing those words.
"Fast," Trishul shouted and she knelt down on the ice block. Her knees were becoming numb and body shivered with cold. For three hours, she knelt on it enduring the pain and then, the ice got melted completely.
