The cold midnight breeze hit their entangled bodies as the two surround themselves in the glow of the moonlight. Atticus looked down at her serene face as she basked in the beautiful scenery before her, and smiled with content.

He took his time memorizing her features; his eyes trailing over her brown wavy hair and vibrant blue eyes, to her small straight nose and plump red lips.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked, amusement and curiosity in her voice.

Atticus thought that her voice is the most beautiful sound that he has ever heard, a perfect melody to match the calm waves hitting the rocks a hundred feet below them. He let her small frame go and leaned beside her over the railings.

"Like what?" He questioned with a smile.

"Like that! You know what I'm talking about." She laughed, slightly hitting him on the shoulder.

He chuckled along with her. "Like you're the most brilliant gem I have ever laid my eyes on?"

Cassidy settled down with a smile on her face before cupping Atticus' cheek and pressing her lips softly against his. He responded to her kiss and wrapped his arms around her waist just as she tangled her hands in his sandy blond hair.

Atticus pulled her body impossibly close to his before lifting her up and carrying her smaller frame from the balcony to their shared bed. As he was about to make a next move, the sound of the bedroom door slamming open reverberated across the room, startling the lust-filled pair.

With hatred and annoyance, Atticus looked at the poor soul that would meet their demise for disturbing their 2nd anniversary celebration. Onyx Aion stood in the doorway, panting while sweat ran down his forehead as if he had run across the Sahara Desert.

"Onyx, didn't I tell you to not- "

"Tic there has been a breach. Rogues." The Alpha instantly stood up, his mind and body high on alert as he strode to where Onyx now calmly stood by the doorway. The latter backed up out of the bedroom and into the hallway, leaning his tall frame against the opposite wall.

"Atticus?" Cassidy's soft voice rang through the room.

Atticus stopped just before passing the doorway, turning around to meet her fright and worry filled gaze. He walked over to her small frame, giving her a lingering kiss on the forehead. "I'll be back, Cassie. Just stay here, you'll be safe."

"Okay." She cupped his cheek covered with a light amount of stubble, just how she likes it, and kissed his soft lips. "Be safe."

He nodded before darting out the door. As they reached the clearing outside of his mansion, they shifted and ran to the pack's village where the pack members reside.

When they arrived, the two males were met with chaos; fire burning down houses, rogues killing the innocent, and wolves chasing human. Everything that Atticus hoped he would not see.

As if something flickered inside of him, the Alpha sprung into action, killing every unfamiliar wolf in his way. Onyx fought beside him with grace. They were the dynamic duo. Nothing would be able to stop them, especially the raging Alpha.

Nothing but...

"Alpha! The pack house is on fire!"

The pack house is on fire!

The pack house...

...on fire!
