5. 'The ultimate guilt'

It's been two hours since all that happened. Felix's eyes have gone completely red and puffy because of crying.

The doctor came out of Fallon's room and Felix immediately stood up.

"What- How did it go?' He asked hopefully.

"She's okay. The operation went well." The doctor stated, as Felix sighed in relief and tears of happiness welled up in his eyes. "Fortunately, you brought her here in time. She's all good and didn't lose much blood. She'll need to stay here until the wound heals and can be discharged later. She'll wake up in maximum one and a half hour." The doctor said, as Felix listened attentively.

"Thank you so much, doctor. Really. Thank you so much." Felix thanked.

"My pleasure. Now, I would like to excuse myself. Please." The doctor said with a smile before leaving.

Felix sat down back on the chair and sighed in relief, completely forgetting about Jayden. After half an hour, he saw the nurses shifting Fallon to another room. He went along with them, having trust issues.

The nurses injected her the injections and drips and everything necessary. They smiled at Felix before leaving them both alone in the room.

Felix sat down on the stool beside Fallon's bed and held her hand.

"Fallon... I'm really really thankful you're okay. Thank you so very much for staying with me... You don't know how scared I was to lose you... You're really my everything... I can't let anything happen to you... I can never see you hurt... Please... Never scare me like this again..." Felix said, with tears brimming in his eyes.

He kept in sitting near her and talking to her, until he drifted off to sleep.

Another half an hour passed, and Fallon blinked her closed eyes, shutting them open slowly. She moved her hands to find out they're held by someone. She looked there and found Felix, now waking up from his sleep because of her movements.

He opened his eyes and they got widened as he saw Fallon's eyes open.

"Fa-Fallon! You're awake! Are you okay? Wait! I'll call the doctor!" Felix said happily, as he ran outside and called the doctor.

The doctor came and checked her, told them the necessary things and left. Now, it was the both of them alone in the room, again.

"I'm really glad you woke up Fallon! I was so scared!" Felix expressed, with happiness all over his face.

"I'm okay, Felix. Where is Jayden? Is he okay?" Fallon asked with worried and tired voice, as Felix's smiled faded and his heart thumped hard against his chest.

𝘖𝘩... 𝘏𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮...

"Jay-Jayden? He..." Felix didn't complete his sentence, as he licked his lips.

"What happened, Felix? Is he okay?" Fallon asked with difficulty.

"Fallon... Actually... I-I don't know... I was so busy with you so... I forgot about him..." Felix replied honestly, making Fallon's eyes widened.

"Felix..." Fallon whispered in disbelief.

"I-I'll go and ask... the doctors..." Felix said and immediately left to ask the doctors.

"Excuse me... It's been there hours already... Has his operation not been completed yet?" Felix asked a nurse coming out of Jayden's room.

"No, sir. His vitals are dropping and rising. The chances of his survival are so low... There's only one to two percent chances he'll survive... He has lost a lot of blood..." The nurse informed before leaving, leaving a numb Felix behind.
