I woke up with a pounding headache and a mouth as dry as the desert. The room spun as I opened my eyes, light stabbing at my eyes , making me squeeze them shut again. My brain felt like it was stuffed with cotton, but fragments of last night's chaos started piecing together.

I remembered the party, the loud music, the way I danced like I had no cares in the world. Flashes of faces, laughter, and the clinking of glasses filled my mind. I tried to sit up, but a wave of nausea hit me, forcing me back down.

I groaned. Images of me taking shot after shot surfaced. Someone dared me, I think. Shots of tequila, each one burning more than the last. I vaguely recalled stumbling around, my feet barely cooperating, and laughing hysterically at something I couldn't quite place.

Blurry memories of Joost popped into my head. Why the f*ck am I thinking about that ass? I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to force the foggy memories into focus. And then it hit me.
Me and Joost kissed.
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I forced myself to sit up slowly this time, trying to keep the room from spinning. My phone was on the nightstand, blinking with notifications. Dread filled me as I reached for it, half expecting embarrassing texts or photos. I quickly checked my phone. 99+ messages. Huh?? Did I post a naked pic of me while drunk or what?

My reflection in the screen showed smudged mascara and hair that looked like a bird's nest.  I grabbed my phone and looked at the messages.

I chuckled. Weirdo.

School was pretty good to be honest. I got surprisingly good grades in math and English, which made me really happy. Plus, a lot of people recognized me from the party and greeted me warmly. Once again me and Mia were meeting at our usual spot in the library.

"So, how was the hang out with that guy at the party?" I asked.

"Ugh, don't even start. At first he was like super nice , but then later he just became too attached and stuff." she said casually.

"Isn't that like a good thing?" I asked , confused.

"Yeah, but I like , when men are not reachable, you know?"

"Right."

"So, how did you like the party? I hope you didn't mind that I left you to hang with him?"

"No, no. It was pretty okay." I lied.

"Oh, okay! So basically, you know how we are like invisible in this school, like loners!"

"Oh?"

"Yeah! So I was just  thinking today, what's wrong?? I mean we're hot, funny , smart and just all the positive adjectives! You hear me, right?"

"Yeah?"

"So, I looked over all the popular kids , and you know what they all have in common?!"

"Uhh..that they're annoying and boring?"

"Oh- um.. yeah of course that too but the other thing is that they're all in relationships!"

"So what do you suggest?"

"That we get in relationships!!" she said with a wide smile.

"Oh yeah that- no definitely no, I'm not doing that."

"But Kattttt.. It's gonna be so fun! And.. I researched the boys personalities at our school, so we wouldn't have to search somewhere else , and I found the perfect matches!"

I sighed.

"Okay."

"Soo the perfect match for you is Lucas! He was totally looking at you in the party!"

"What?! No way! And he wasn't looking at me! He's cross eyed! Nobody ever know's who he's looking at!"

"Okay whatever. And my perfect match is... Joost!"

"W-wait what?"

"Yeah! I mean I get it that I really hated him at first, but I gotta give him a second chance , you know?"

"O-oh yeah totally."

"So I'm gonna ask him out today after school!" she giggled and grabbed my hands.
