The match ends with 3-0 to Barcelona. Tina, Eliyah and Chris were ecstatic that such a good match was their first ever match they've watched in person.
But it's the next day and they are getting ready to leave to the UK. I sigh as i wrap my arms around Tina's neck tightly.
"It's okay." She rubs my back as I try to hold back the tears. "I'll see you again soon, trust." SHe reassures as we pull away.
"Yeah, hopefully." I smile sadly before turning my attention to Eliyah.
"Bye, kiddo." Eliyah says as he pulls me into a firm hug. "Text me and call if you ever want to talk to Chris." He places a small kiss on the top of my head before letting me go.
"I will." I tell him before moving over to Chris.
"I'm gonna miss you." Chris pouts as I crouch down and pull him into a hug. "Mommy also hasn't come home yet, but maybe I can visit her like I visited you!"
I feel my breath stop in my throat as I pull away and stare at the little boy in front of me, immediately feeling guilty.
"Alright, Chris." Eliyah says as he pulls his son away from me. "That's enough."
I slowly stand up and turn away from them, trying to compose myself.
"We should get going." Tina mumbles as she places a hand on my shoulder, pulling me into one last hug.
They start to walk off, towards the check-in counters as I wave at them. Dad puts an arm around me as we exit the airport and get into his car.
"You okay?" He asks. I nod slowly and stare out the window. "Chris will find out the truth when he can understand and he will never blame you. I promise."
I smile at Dad and nod as he drives off. Once we reach home, I see a bunch of cars in our driveway.
"Ah, the boys much be over." He says as he switches off the engine. I look at him confused and he starts to explain. "I don't know if you've realised after staying with us for the past 3 months but the boys come over on the 3rd of each month. It happened because, around 2 years ago, Alejandro got injured, badly. So they decided to come on the 3rd at one moment since number 3 is the number Ale wears for Barcelona. Then they had a lot of fun and decided that the 3rd is the day of each month where we all gather at our house to hang out together the whole day. The past 3 months they've slightly laid off and just stayed for 3-4 hours because they didn't want to really invade the whole house while you were getting used to it so I thought maybe from now on, since you seem really comfortable around here, I hope, we could continue the tradition."
"Awee." I pout. Everything about that is so sweet. From gathering every 3rd of each month just for Alejandro to staying just a few hours to make sure I was comfortable. "Those boys seem like whack ass idiots but they're so sweet."
"They're still whack ass idiots." Dad laughs as he gets out the car and opens my door for me. I thank him and start to walk towards the front door of the house, immediately hearing the loud chatter of the whole team inside.
Dad swings the front door open and all the attention lands on us.
"Coach. (Y/n)!" They say, happily.
I wave, still slightly under the weather. The fact that Chris is waiting for his mom to come home when she isn't, and it's all my fault, is still lingering in the back of my mind, making me feel guilty.
