Chapter 27: Mini-Vacation

The first thing Lena did on her day off was to call Hibino and schedule him coming to the lab in the evening to test her sensor on him. She'd already used it on herself and a more than willing Yoji and she wanted to see her baseline's results against them. Then, because screw the rules, she hopped over to the boys dorm to hunt down her brother and poke his face.

Leno had never been a morning bird. She'd always had to drag him, literally, out of bed when they were growing up. Finding that she had to do similar when she was let into his dorm room by a Hibino made her smile.

She made quick work of squatting next to his bed and poking his face. Mission accomplished.

Leno groaned.

"Brother dearest."

"Fuck off."

"Oh, you gonna cuss at me? I don't believe I raised you like that."

"Hnnrgh, Lenaaaaaa. It's Sunday."

"Which means we can plaaaaaaaay. Play with me. Play. Play. Play."

Behind her, Hibino laughed.

Leno slapped her offending finger away.

"Stop poking me and I'll get up."

"Music to my ears."

"You have breakfast yet?" Hibino asked. "I was just going to grab him and me some."

"Yeah, I'm good." Eating first thing after waking up was sort of a need to with her stupid body.

Hibino left and it took a good ten more minutes of harassing him until Leno finally opened his eyes and oozed out of bed like a slug.

"I hate you," he said. "The one morning I get to sleep in."

"Aw, but look at this cute face." She squished his face with both hands till he had fish lips.

He slapped her hands away. "Stop it. Aren't girls not allowed in the guys dorms?"

"Yes, because I might rape you or the giant which is Hibino."

"Ugh, gah, what is wrong with you? That isn't even funny."

A knock came at the door. "Is that my darling nerd I hear in there?"

Instantly, all drowsiness flew from Leno and he leveled a hard look at the door.

Lena sighed. "Hello, Vice Captain."

Hoshina opened the door wearing his trademark grin and a white shirt with jeans. His hair was still damp from a shower and there was a towel around his neck. The bruise which was his face hadn't gotten much better, though it at least seemed to be browning around the edges.

"Wow, I don't think I've seen you outside of a lab coat in months. Pink looks good on you."

"Sir, please don't flirt with my sister first thing in the morning," said Leno balefully.

"Just stating a fact. And I'd be remiss to not keep track of a woman where she isn't supposed to be. You just here to pick up your brother or are you planning on staying?"

"Just picking him up. Once he's had breakfast I'll drag him off somewhere."

"Best you do that."

"There's a common room here," said Leno. Both common rooms of the dorms were free to all.

Hoshina cocked his head towards her brother. "Do you really want her around when the rest wake up?"

"She's already seen your sor---you've already seen her, sir, would it be so bad if the others did?"

Hoshina's smile widened dangerously. "Ichikawa, get your sister out of my house."

"Yes, sir."

Lena snorted. "Your house?"

"Home away from home, love."

"Don't call me that."

Hibino popped in around the Vice Captain then. "I got the goods!"

"Oh, that smells nice. I think I'll get one of those," said Hoshina.

Leno heaved a sigh of relief.

Hibino and Hoshina exchanged farewells and then Hibino closed the door behind him. He tossed an aluminum-wrapped burrito to Leno before settling himself on the opposite bottom bunk from Leno to break into his own.
