As Noah passes the threshold, he's met with a grand entry hall. There are two large staircases on either side of the room, curving inwards to meet further down. An intricate carpet covered the entire hallway, complementing the decor adorning the walls. While the demon behind him walked right into the room without a second thought, Noah had to take a moment to soak in the new surroundings. It was nothing like homes back in the human realm. A reminder that, while this was all new and exciting, it was far from any kind of familiarity or comfort. It's something he'll have to get used to, and learn to accept.
"Hey, close the door, would ya?" Mammon's loud voice commanded, snapping Noah out of his thoughts.
"Huh? Oh! Yeah, right. Sorry," Noah responded quickly, shutting the door.
"This is The House of Lamentation. It's one of the dorms here at RAD. Well, it's not just one of the dorms. It's the dorm reserved for student council members. That means Lucifer, Asmo, and the others live here too. Those guys are always callin' me scum, sayin' I'm a money-grubber and stuff.." Mammon paused for a moment as if to think about his statement before continuing, ".. but I am an officer of the council just like them. Y'know, the elite of the elite, the top of the RAD social pyramid. So don't go thinkin' I'm just some ordinary demon."
Noah began to zone out, not particularly interested in Mammon's incessant boasting.
"... But if it ever looks like a demon is about to attack you.." the narcissist began, grabbing Noah's attention once more. ".. run away. Either that or die," he stated plainly.
"How about this? I vote for YOU to die, Mammon," another voice emanated from down the hall. The clear contempt in this person's tone was enough to startle both Mammon and Noah.
"D'ah-! Levi!" Mammon exclaimed, clearly surprised by the presence. "Uhm, Listen up, human! This here is Leviathan, the Avatar of Envy. He's the third oldest of us brothers." he said as he tried to ease the apparent tension between him and this Leviathan character.
"Mammon, give me back my money. Then go crawl in a hole and die." Leviathan said lowly, glaring at Mammon.
"I promise I'll give you back your money-! I just need more time! I don't have any money to give you anyway, so there's no point in pressin' this-!" Mammon responded defensively, holding his hands up.
"Wait, so you're just refusing to pay me back? Is that it-?" Levi responds, his fists clenching.
"Hey- Uh- Human-? Remember when I told you that if a demon tries to attack, you run or die?" Mammon asks shakily, slowly stepping back. "Well you gotta die, because it ain't gonna be me-!" Mammon says loudly before sprinting up the stairs and around the corner, his loud footsteps still being faintly heard through the walls.
Noah stays frozen in place, his jaw wide open as he tries to take in the fact that the demon meant to be his "guardian" is now running off, tail between his legs, leaving him to fend for himself. His attention then shifts from the top of the stairs to the demon standing in front of him. Now that the loud and obnoxious Mammon wasn't in front of Leviathan, he could take in his appearance. Leviathan was of similar height and weight to Mammon, only an inch taller than Noah. He had bright purple side swept bangs covering his brows, the color contrasting with his orange irises. He had an incredibly pale complexion, the kind only achievable by avoiding the outdoors like the plague. Noah could tell that this demon likely preferred to be alone simply from the way he squinted in the brightness of the hall along with the slight slump in his posture, causing his shoulders to rest forward in an almost insecure fashion.
"That scumbag. He would use you as a distraction to run from his problems. Typical lowlife behavior. But don't think you're off the hook either. It was very human of you to just trust that waste of space," Leviathan sighs frustratedly before leaning closer. "This is exactly why I don't like you humans."
