Being forced to work at her father's office was something Sakura Haruno never wanted to do. This wasn't what she had expected for all of her summer vacations. On top of drowning in her medical classes, she now had to work at her father's office every summer if she wanted any allowance.

Sakura Haruno was the only child of Kizashi and Mebuki Haruno. Her family owned several businesses, mostly in the flower industry, but it wasn't until her father's company gained recognition in the Konoha area that things changed. Sakura, on the other hand, had grown up spoiled compared to other kids. She was fortunate to have parents who provided for her, but something changed after college.

Something drastic.

Her father started to realize that she was becoming too dependent on them. So, he came up with the best solution for her situation. She could either continue to be spoiled her whole life or learn a thing or two by working in an office.

In other words... she had to earn her own money.

Bummer.

Sakura had no idea what to expect on her first day back. She was already annoyed at having to wake up early during her summer break, let alone work. Pushing the duvet off, she stared blankly at the neatly folded office clothes on her dresser. Her mother had insisted that she pick out an outfit the night before, knowing how indecisive Sakura could be.

Don't get her wrong, Sakura wasn't lazy. Hell, she was a medical student! But that's the thing. Sakura only had a passion for the medical field and didn't want anything to do with the business world.

At all.

"This is so fucking stupid..." Sakura sighed, sitting in front of her dresser. She pulled her long hair over her shoulder and struggled to brush out the knot.

Surprisingly, she got ready quickly. She opted for a simple hairstyle, tying her hair into a high ponytail. She wore minimal makeup to accentuate her beauty and a casual business attire that made her feel confident. Her outfit consisted of a pencil skirt and a button-down blouse.

As Sakura looked at her wristwatch, she headed down to the apartment garage. She had twenty minutes to spare, which meant she had time to grab her morning coffee. Sakura couldn't imagine facing the day without caffeine.

She entered her white Lexus and scrolled through her contact list. She clicked on the name she was looking for: Ino Yamanaka.

Ino had been Sakura's best friend since they were in diapers. Sakura wished she could spend more time with her friends instead of working at her father's office from 9 to 5 during the summer.

"What?" Ino groggily spoke through the car speaker.

"Oops, sorry pig. Did I wake you up?" Sakura chuckled.

"No, you're good. I should be waking up soon anyway. Let me guess... it's your first day back at the office?" Ino said tiredly.

Sakura let out a sigh. "Yeah, you already know the drill. Morning coffee, and then off to be my father's assistant. I wonder why he can't just hire an intern to do all the work."

"Hm... well, you're only working until 5 today, right, forehead? Maybe we can grab some drinks after? Happy hour?" Ino suggested.

Sakura smiled as she continued driving. "You know me so well. Text the group chat so Hinata knows too."

"You got it, forehead."

"Well, I'm going to have to let you go. I should be pulling up to the cafe soon," Sakura ended the call as she parked her car.

Sakura was fortunate that her apartment was close to downtown Konoha and her father's office. It was both a blessing and a curse.

It was only 8:45 in the morning, so Sakura had about 15 minutes to reach the office.
